Hello. I am in some serious help of finding a new monitor.

The monitor must be a 30 inch. Not 27 or 24 but 30 inch! :)
Resolution must also be 2560x1600.

What shall I use this monitor for?

FPS games mainly but also some RTS like SC2 and Diablo 3.

So guys.. What can you recommend me? The price doesn't really matter. I just want a 30 inch monitor that can be used as a gaming monitor first and foremost.

Thanks for your time reading this.

Best regards

I tried some google and I found someone saying that 6ms is quite bad for playing FPS games. It actually got me scared quite a bit to be honest

And that was the Dell U3014

All higher resolution IPS monitors have this kind of response time. It makes little to no difference. 6ms might be bad with your run of the mill TFT LCD monitor, but not these.

My old dell 2405fpw is 6ms or higher, and i cant tell. Dell monitors are the best but pricey.

Really? My current monitor is a Acer G24 (Gaming monitor it says) and it's a 2ms with 1920x1200. 3 times more ms at the 30 inch monitor :twitch:

Your Acer G24 uses a different panel and the response time is measured in grey to grey. IPS panels are measured in black to white to black. Perhaps you should find a retail shop to look at the difference if you are concerned.

I'm saying you have no reason to be. ;)

Besides, you're not going to find a panel at that resolution that is a TFT panel.

It's a TN panel, and that 2ms rating is grey-to-grey, which means it is really a 6ms(black-white-black) monitor. Believe me, you won't notice ghosting going from a 6ms TN to a 6ms IPS.

Is that a bad or good thing about my monitor? I live in a small city and the closest city is 160km away from me - lol.

This might be a stupid question but my monitor, Acer G24.. How outdated is it as of today's monitors ? Like compared to the Dell 30 inch ??

My HP LP2475w 24" 1920x1200 IPS monitor is 6ms. It games no different than the old tn-film 2ms panel I came from.

You should be just fine with the 30"

I will say as a user of a Dell 30" - I love it:toast:
Had if for about two years now and I have not notice any issue with the response time in games such as Crysis 2 and 3 (MP) or BF 3 (MP). The response time to is no issue in FPS games. When I upgraded a couple years ago I was thinking of going with three 1920x1080 monitors but decided I didn't want to deal with the bezels:(

I my experience 8ms is still very playable for FPS games. You will notice some ghosting in racing games when the whole image on screen is moving fast but that is it.

I got my HP ZR30w last December, and I have been nothing but happy with it. And yes, I play a lot of FPS games and notice no issues
