For those patiently waiting for your order cancellations, sometimes takes 1-2 good days to get one. I would hazard a guess that about a zillion of these got ordered and Dell is going to be sending cancellations in huge piles, it's gonna take some time. :laugh:

Just realized I got 3% cashback on the non-sale price of them from an Ebates type cash back site I use. So I got five of them for $100+tax total and $15 back on top of that. This is just too good. No shipping confirmation yet though.

It could've cost someone their job for what amounts to an entry error. Shit happens. I'm not bothered by it...we all fuck up to varying degrees. If we hold them to that expectation, we should hold ourselves to it as well.

I've had good experience with Dell over the years, and I lost nothing over it. If we all demanded such thing from businesses when mistakes occur, they'd all be dead by now. This mistake would've proven extremely costly if they honored all the orders put in, even offering one drive at that price to those that ordered. That shit trickles right down to other products we buy. No thanks. Not worth it.

Someday we'll see these prices for solid state storage. Today is not that day unfortunately.

Well, a decent number of people did indeed rec their drives (and are likely flooding eBay with listings right now).

At least Dell immediately returned my funds. I've gambled on a couple price matches and sometimes you're waiting days just to see if you get cancelled, then even more time waiting for your money back (cough JET cough).

Was worth a shot, keep your eyes peeled for the next one, guys :toast:

Looks like a few made it out and they put the stop to it, just not you or I. Just those lucky enough to have their orders processed and shipped before the brakes were put on.

Imagine, if Dell shipped 10,000 of these at only a $10 loss per drive, that's a loss of $100,000, not a small chunk of change even for a multi-million dollar company. That's a costly mistake, and they'll make up for it elsewhere by bumping up prices if they need to.
