Kailh wants to quieten things down a few notches with the all-new BOX Hush mechanical switch for keyboards and the equally new V&S switch for mice. We examine both in detail, focusing on the former courtesy the provided Kailh BOX keyboard made by Hexgears and the latter with the Hexgears M105 mouse.

So quiet out here, huh? I meant the comment section and also as a pun for the switch btw. Yeah, the lighting is ugly. That's why most keycaps have the shine-through on the upper part or don't just bother with backlit. Although with the clear stem I don't know why they couldn't do a centrally mounted LED like Logitech tried to hype up all those years ago.

And why toggle loud and silent on a mouse switch anyway? Don't know the mechanism since you didn't disassemble but sounds (heh!) like a possible failure point tbh. Just sell two series qs separately can mice manufacturer can pick and chhose according to market or consumers can hot swap like that ROG mouse or just solder like every other mice.

Man, these are really quite! Don't know if they'll topple Silent Alpacas for the absolute quietest ever, but they seem to be close judging from your recording. I might finally consider swapping out silent reds and going for either of these instead.

No experience with the Silent Alpacas at this point, but these are quieter than the Matias Quiet Click if it helps. Definitely more so than the Cherry MX Silent Red or Silent Black if you bottom out.

The backlight would look better if there was something to actually diffuse the light. Not just a clear piece on the switch or the translucent black on the keycaps. This could work if they used either a proper diffuser (made with frosted plastic instead of clear), or just made the switch housing out of milky plastic (like Gateron Milky switches).

Frosted plastic would definitely be better, but you can see with one of the images of the keycap removed that it's not that bad with the clear "prism" either.

The clear plastic is making it brighter but it's still concentrated in that one spot. The so called "diffuser" is not diffusing anything.

Now that you mention it, I am not sure if Kailh ever calls it a diffuser. The image used in the article refers to it just as a light pipe.

Is there a Keyboard-Software to remap the keys? Maybe even with shift / altgr extra layers?

No first-party option at this time, but you can use universal programs such as AutoHotkey or Cherry's Keys (newer version of Keyman). I don't know about layer support though.
