Only skimmed through but I imagine these are a bit heavier than normal keys. I wonder how that would feel when typing if it changed rebound characteristics.

I'm a plain-old-joe hence can't see myself picking up something like this. But have to admit i'm glad to have casually scrolled through the review.... the manual production and long-hours labour detailing is exquisite hence can't knock the price either.

Not that much heavier since it's light resin most of the way.

Varies depending on the custom keycap. As stated it's mostly light resin, however there are some that are metal. Ultimately any fully custom keycap is going to feel different than a PBT or ABS keycap. The weight, texture, materials can range from different to extremely different.

But these things aren't for typists. These things are for themed keyboards or for people who build keyboards to display (I know, I know, but if it makes them happy who am I to judge). If you want a custom keycap set for typing you're looking at complete PBT or ABS set from a vendor that does limited runs. But even the most common names (like GMK) are going to cost you more than a keyboard.

A lot of these are limited runs as well. For what it is, it's priced fair.

I must admit, i never thought i'd read reviews for just a single custom keycap

I have some solid metal keycaps on my WASD, and they change the sound a little bit from the PBT's next to them but honestly not drastically - if you had MX blues or something you need to hammer down you might bottom them out and hear a difference on some keyboards, but on MX red and razers optical red i can 'feel' the difference (especially in winter holy shite they get cold) but not hear it

These are all 3D printed then immersed in a mold. There has to be at least 50% markup for even a 2-5 person company to exist.

I love these things. Makes me smile how such a 'technically' pointless thing can be so awesome. Then again, I guess this is art, not tech. But yes, so very cool.

I was thinking the same thing. Theses are really cool and I can tell a lot of labor goes into them. I'm just too cheap to spend that kind of money on key caps. Hell, I have trouble seeing the value in $150 keyboards. I own one and it is sitting in the closet because in so many ways I prefer this $30 backlit dome keyboard. These are luxury key caps and thus I will buy them when I already own a $50,000 Rolex watch and have a Lambo parked in the driveway. Maybe not a Lambo but something a bit nicer than my 5-year-old Toyota.

If you found one that tied into a persons interests or themes, i could see getting one as a gift for a tech friend who already has everything

Resin cast, not 3D printed, as mentioned in the group buy page:
