Hi everyone

Just a quick question. I was thinking of buying this i7.
http://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SCPUINTI79201A

Is it a good idea to try 2nd cpu's. I mean its £160 and i have a £96 credit note. So in theory i would be getting a i7 for £64. Would anybody else take this risk. I brought a q6600 of these couple of years back and it worked perfect for two years then i sold my computer. You get 1 year guarantee also.

What do you think
Hopefully i7 for £64
Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3 Intel X58 £134

Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C9 1600MHz £107

Corsair TX 650W £69

Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom £30

Antec Sonata £45

Samsung SH-S223L 22x DVD±RW DL £13

So i would have this rig for £462. I have already got £200 saved also so £260 is all i need.

I dont see any problem ,cpus are best candidate to buy used (very very little risk and since socket 775 intel cpus dont even have pins =no risk at transport/delivery)
I dont have any idea UK prices for used components of course , if price is good no problem.System looks good to me , i guess you have vga card?

LOL Yes i agreed. Lousy bastards do rob you. What makes me laugh about them is they can sell 2nd games for more than brand new sometimes. Like PES11 for example is £34.99 on ps3 and they sell it for £40 2nd hand. Oh well that CPU just seemed too good to be true. Is the i7 920 good? becuase when i look for it on ebuyer/overclockers i can not find it.

it is a great CPU, will overclock well, but if you got the 950 it would go further, but only a bit further, and it is not worth the extra cost TBH

Alternatively, you can buy the chip and sell it for a quick buck.

I've bought plenty from CeX, just avoid headphones, things that are easy to fake (I bought fake Sennheiser IE8s recently, that was a pain, I'll tell you...).
I've bought several CPUs, sticks of RAM and GPUs over the years, never had an issue.
Mind, I did use the Tottenham Court Road store, they seem to be pretty geeky in there, and knowledgable. Plus, I had friends working there (10% discount? Yes please!)

They don't work there any more, which sucks.
Keep rocking that 4850 until the 6 series comes out, no point upgrading too soon, and getting screwed.
