The 3070 for $970 has since sold out, but I have found 3 different 3070s with all with 3 fans going for $999 (Galax, MSI, and Gigabyte), and there's also the Gigabyte 5700XT that I have found for $690. Which one is a better value? I would prefer to save money, but if the 3070 is far better value for performance then I would be fine with getting it, especially if it means I won't to upgrade for a long time (5+ years).

700 for a 5700XT?

No thanks. Id rather spend a G on the other one.

If you don't have a choice, go for the 3070. Ignore Galax.

Which models from MSI and Gigabyte are in stock?

Also, the PSU is questionable at best. I would personally not use that with a 3070.

That's fascinating; the ~30% price difference here almost precisely mirrors the 30% performance delta between the 3070 and 5700XT at 1440p. The gap widens a bit to 34% at 4K, so the 3070 is a slightly better value there. So on value, they're basically tied. The 3070 will hypothetically last you a bit longer, perhaps an extra year or two over the 5700 XT.

$690 AUD is ~ 440€

maybe if it's nitro + Special Edition...

633€ for a 3070 is suboptimal but for the current situation "okay-ish" if it's a decent card like the gaming x trio or something similar..

if it's worth it for you... why not.
