3080 FE: My base frequency is 100 MHz lower than usual?

Hey there,

I was watching a few undervolting videos like this one from OptimumTech.

and this one:

Their base frequency is 1300 MHz.

Just to add my starting frequency of the curve starts at stock 1200 MHz. Is this normal? From their videos, their base clock when setting a curve was higher. They also are using a Founders Edition 3080.

Why is mine 1200 MHz and their curves start at 1300 MHz?

very interesting video. I shall be downclocking my 3090 for 24/7.

Theres a possibility hes running a differant bios to you. As far as the difference in core clock goes.

i was amazed how cool the 3090 ran. i figured it would with that 3 pound chunk of metal sitting on top of the chip, not to mention those massive fans. nicely made cards all around. Nvidia topped themselves with the reference design yet another year. super quiet too.

im curious about the headroom, ive heard its garbo.

Tell that to everyone over on the EVGA forums. It looks like there has been a design fault and everyones cards are slowly going pop. Including mine.
They think its a bug to do with precision, it gives the card an update and the cards dont last long afterwards. My next card arrives in 2 days cant wait. Asus Tuf 3090!!!
I'll come back and post how well I do under volting the card and the score. I'll increase the memory like the guy in the video.

I love my undervolted 3090 - .08v / 1.8GHz runs amazingly cool and quiet, and basically no game maxes the GPU at 1440p 165Hz

Regarding the lower base clock, have you checked BIOS versions? there may be a variance there

Has everyone here been able to push 1000mhz on the memory as well as undervolt???
