3090 Mining is underperforming.

So, I've been mining for around a year and a few months now. I started off mining with a 3090 and got a 3080 around 6-8 months ago. Both graphics cards are evga ftw3 and both cards have been running 24/7 and have been running at decent temps. The 3090 started off mining at a decent hash rate of 112-120 MH's and stayed like that until I got the 3080. Since the 3080-hash rate is about half that of the 3090 which is an average of 60 MH's, the 3090 and 3080 have been mining at the same exact speed ever since I got the 3080. Well I decided to test out something that had been bothering me for a while and that was since the combined hash rate of both card mining was the same hash rate as just the 3090 mining, I was going to try and see if the 3090 could run at its rated speed of 120 MH's while I have the 3080 in my personal computer so I can play games on it and mine. The problem is as of right now that the 3090 isn't mining at its original hash rate of 112-120. I am mining Raven coin after removing the 3080 and the 3090 is running a hash rate of 60-63 MH's. I tried to fix this problem but I can't figure out anything to try and fix the solution. I checked the VRAM temps and it was running a very cool 63 C and I tried to OC the graphics card using msi afterburner which helped a little but didn't fix the hash rate. Now as of writing this I am mining Raven coin which is mining on the 2miners pool or what ever its called, but when I originally got the hash speed for the 3090 it was mining eth before that went to proof of stake. Is that maybe the problem that mining a different coin changes its hash rate? I really don't have a clue how to fix it and if someone does please reach out to me.

Different coins have different hash rates. This is expected behavior.

Which miner are you using? If you are overclocking from the miner config, maybe it gave the same overclock to both cards or kept the 3080 settings on the 3090. When i ran 4 different cards, i used Afterburner and had a profile for each one, never really trusted the settings from the miners. Also you could try to update the miner to the newest version if there is any, or try switching miners (i used to rotate between lolminer, gminer, Trex and NBminer a lot as some had weird glitches like yours from time to time).

Maybe also worth reinstalling drivers each time a card is added or removed.

Hi!

It's possible that mining a different coin could affect the hash rate of your graphics card, as different coins have different algorithms and requirements for mining. It's also possible that there may be other factors affecting your hash rate, such as changes to your system's settings or software updates.

One thing you could try is to update your mining software to the latest version, as this may help to optimize the performance of your graphics card. You could also try experimenting with different mining algorithms or pools to see if that improves your hash rate.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the hash rate of a graphics card can degrade over time, particularly if it has been running 24/7 for over a year. This can be due to factors such as wear and tear on the hardware or changes to the mining software. It may be worth considering taking a break from mining to give your hardware a chance to rest and recover, or to consider upgrading to newer hardware if you want to continue mining at a high hash rate.
