Seems to be a weak release though...the only highlight is:

Gaming Technology
Support added for GameWorks VR 1.1 including VR SLI support for OpenGL applications and support for the latest Oculus SDK

I'm personally hoping for a little better planet-side performance from Elite Dangerous...

Just finished setting up my system and everything was perfect!

Powered on my system in the morning (before I go to work) and was prompted to install this new driver by the Nvidia GeForce Experience application. Okayed the installation....

Halfway through, the installation failed at the Driver upgrade stage. Selected retry again still failed. Now my Win 10 with 3-display setup defaults back to the low resolution singe display.

Restarted the system and tried the driver upgrade again... still failed. Dig out the previous driver and tried... also failed! Luckily saved a System Restore System point only yesterday. Rolled back to the previous System Restore point and my perfect configuration is back again.

Immediately turned OFF the check for updates and auto download options. So much thanks to Nvidia for almost destroying my setup. Also downloaded Win Updates Disabler and disabled Windows Updates. Not giving any of these s***holes another chance to turn my system into another Guinea Pig...

reports are coming in of the same bsod/crash loop problems people have been experiencing on fermi/kepler cards
me thinks that nvidia was a bit quick to promis WDM 2.0/DX_12_1 support for those cards

Everything above 353.62 makes my 680s driver crash and recover randomly while idling or browsing sometimes in lower games like Heros of the Storm.
361.43 Has done it better so far but still without any notice my cards clock down like a driver crash and wont clock up high without restart otherwise Bf4 which is a very good test to see if the driver is stable in SLI runs very good and Stable.

My boys' GTX 660 has been super stable with these newer drivers, but in reality they mostly play Minecraft, Burnout: Paradise or Supreme Commander 2. So not the most graphically intensive games... Maybe I'll try to run Ashes on that PC and see if it crashes as others have been reporting. A friend of mine with a 680 reverted back to older drivers for the same reason.

I don't mind the GF Experience, my oldest boy uses it for recording his games...works a treat for that. Beyond that there's no use in it for me...beyond notifying me of a driver update and wasting memory....but maybe someday in the future I'll find more use in it.

I had 3 crashes in BFH and was unable to specify the monitor color range and depth so I had to go back to 359.06. That's the best driver for me so far.

I'm having the problem again where the driver causes stupid load on my CPU at idle. This is a general warning to anyone who uses a Fermi card (if that is the issue) DO NOT USE THESE DRIVERS. Twice in a row these new WDDM 2.0 drivers have caused me problems. Looks like I'm going back to the old ones, again...

They still put out decent performance on a budget...I picked up that 570 used two years ago for around $60-70 iirc. Power hungry, hot and loud sunofabitch, but it's capable of doing 1080p gaming in times of need.

That 570 is now my backup card as I snagged a GTX660 from one of our great fellow TPU-ers last summer.

I know quite a few folks still using the older 5xx series with great success...but these drivers have caused them problems. I tested the 570 and these drivers, and the CPU load issue is very much a real problem among other issues that presented with these drivers....where with the 660 we experience none of these problems. I don't expect NV to fix this though...I suppose it might be time to find a new spare card...

I don't really need to upgrade. The only issue I'm having is that the VRAM on this card is a little low; if I'd bought the 3GB version I wouldn't be having any problems at all. I hope this doesn't mean that I will be forced to use old drivers just to have a stable system. :\

To be honest on that front, you'll be fine with older drivers...while I upgrade my main system frequently...I only do so when I remember to on the kids' rig...gaming performance issues are never an issue in all honesty...unless you SLI and play brand new games on release day, odds are you really aren't missing out all that much...

There's a sort of workaround for some... as soon as u downloaded the latest driver build, do a clean install by unchecking Miracast, HDMI Audio & GFE that comes with the package, leaving the driver & control panel untouched. Tried this on my laptop's GTX860M & it worked for me. No more weird "driver kernel crashed & recovered successfully" error message popping up. Also, my other 3 rigs runs completely faultless after I do the "experiment" on them. Installing a standalone GFE on all 3 rigs does not have any issues, be it streaming or recording... Not sure if this helps but there's no harm trying.

Everytime I get a problem with driver updates, the first thing I try for a fix is to install a bare minimum drivers, meaning only graphic driver (CP included) and PhysX driver. And it solved most of the problem for me.

That's a strange one and I've never seen this problem - I just install everything and it's fine. I wonder if it shows up more on certain configurations? Also, I'm running W7, what OS are you running that's seen the problem? If it's W10 that figures.

all are on 8.1 Pro. so far certain GTX860M users like me run into kernel crashes. Now, it hardly has that... most of the time now I do is record games on my desktops.

That explains why 99% of all driver releases for my card are working just fine. I never install GFE and always clean install whenever its more than just a game ready tweak.

That said, Im also still on W7.

My last resort solution has also worked wonders for performance and benching/overclocking, which is a map I keep with major driver versions that have worked flawlessly. When all else fails, I just reinstall one of them and manual tweak wherever needed in NVInspector, if a Game ready driver ever breaks something. I've had old and stable overclocks on GPU get destroyed/become unstable by newer driver releases, especially ever since Maxwell got released Kepler has been messy.

Exact same here. Clean install everytime, but I'm on Windows 10 and still pretty issue free.
