3870 owners, You gonna upgrade?

Just curious on how many of you 3870 owners are planning on upgrading soon. I personally after reading reviews and playing the games I play will be keeping my CrossFired 3870's. How many of you ditched yours the moment the 4800's were released? I still think the 3870's are a solid card and hold up to most of the new games fairly well. Just curious.

while there are definetly faster cards out there, theres no game a 3870 can't play at a decent detail level. so a good chunck of people will probabaly keep them.

me I sold my 2900xt for 200$ and kept the Palit 9600gt sonic sample from the palit enthusiast program. both being around the same performance as the 3870 I'd say it's plenty for the moment. But I guess it all depends on your windows version. I'm still on xp. if you're on vista and running dx10 you might think diufferently.

I just got mine, no way am I ditching it. I will wait till the next 3870's drop in price a tad and then I will get another one and crossfire it. Should easily last me till the end of the year, maybe longer.

I loved my 3870s, bloodt awsome cards but luck had it that just as they 4870s were released my Water cooling busted and hosed one of my cards, so I had no choince in the matter of upgrading.

Same here, but replaced with HD 4850 which is enough for my current needs and LCD. I was aiming for HD 4870 but looking back at HD 38xx vs. HD 48xx dosn't worth it. In 6 months we might see another HD 5850 which would sink HD 4870's boat same as HD 4850 did with my HD 3870. I spent 300 $ on my HD 3870 and after 6 months barely sold it for 140 $, I won't repeat that mistake again but that's just my opinion based on current financial situation.

PS.If I was loaded with cash like other enthusiast out there, I would aim for HD 4870 X2, do some Vold mode on it, fallowed by some insane OC and add another one for a CF config. latter when drivers get better.

I sold one of my 3870's w/ some Ballistix 2Gb to a friend but taking that money and buying a 3870X2 off another friend since he is going for the 4870X2 and I'm more than happy with my crossfire 3870 setup.

Well I agree, though you can see in my sig in on the green team for now, but I have your equal (nearly) with the 9600GT, and I think I will wait a year or so. Gaming is fine for now.

Haha, I just got my 3870 a few days ago, so far I'm loving it. I would have gotten a 4850, but I couldn't afford to shell out the extra 40 bucks or whatever it is. Either way, I'll be keeping this 3870 for a while.

I am very happy with my 2 3800, had one since Dec and orderd the other in May. COD4 ,UT3, Bf2142, Orange Box, Crysis, look great on my 22 ws. Also tempting the 3870X2 MSI on newegg for 239.99

get this ASUS HD 3850 with Glaciator heatsink for $60 , overclock it to HD 3870 speeds and be happy until next cards come out .

I upgraded to a HD 4850. I find it's quite a bit better than my 3870 especially with AA on. But I'm keeping my 3870 as a backup for now. Just too bad you can't Crossfire 3800s with 4800s...

Hahaha! I got one of the best friends ever! He just trashed hes scooter, so he needed money asap! so he sold me the 3870 back to me.. for $120!!! What a friend!
