Just wandering when coming to gaming what should be in the first slot the 3870x2 or the 3870 I notice that when the 3870 is in the first spot I can use overdrive in ccc, but I do notice that cfx doesn't really work my 3870x2, but if I put the 3870x2 in the first slot I can't control my fans from altering the profile and I can only alter the 3870x2 fan in rivatuner.....anyone got any ideas it would really help me alot thx...i'm hoping that when I get my 4 to 8 pin pcie adapter that it won't matter, because i've tried everything

Junky.....I too came across this dilemma using the same GPU configuration ( HIS 3870X2 , HIS 3870 ). My first way to solve this was to have the X2 in the second slot and the 3870 in the primary slot. Thus i could use rivatuner to control fan on single 3870 while at the same tine I knew the fan speed was working on the X2. The second and final solution was to flash the bios on the single 3870 fixing the fan speed issue on that card. Finally I was able to swap the X2 back into the primary slot and the single 3870(with bios fix) back into the second slot.
Hope this helps. You will have to find a suitable bios for your single 3870. Your X2 fan speed works correctly I take it ?
