A while ago i haver read that ATI is asking for motherboard company to make motherboard with a 3rd PCI Express slot. Its it for this? http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=TC1KWCF
As in Dual Gpu is not enough the need to add a 3rd. As for Sli they go for 4. So there will be viturally no place for any other pci slot.
But any how Quad Sli uses how many PCI Express slot?

Since we are at it i wonder currently which is better CrossFire or Sli. And is it worth it to invest in a dual gpu system. Since most mid motherboard comes with sli or corssfire.

Will 2x 7600GT better perfrom 1x 7900GT or 1x 7900GTX? And will 2x X1600XT perform better than 1x X1900XT or 1x X1900XTX? If so what are the performance ratio compared among them? Anyplace in the web where they already compared it?

I think that the reason ATI is asking for the third PCI Express slot is not for graphics processing but rather for physics processing. Ie upgrading to two X1900XT in crossfire then using old X1600, X1800, or whatever as physics processor

The new PPU is somewhat pointless because it doesnt give you enough extra framerates and some more sparkles when blowing things up and only few games support it, also it will propably cost around 300€.

to be exactly it gives you lower fps, bu phisyx cards are only for look not for performance and the good look is there
there will be more games supporting this cards in near future
