LINK Would of moved the info but theres way to much
the 2 hd 4870x2 beat it
:shadedshu you can't compare 3xGTX280's to 4x4870's, 4x GTX280's would bet 4x4870's hands down
we see what you think from your sig and your avatar
and compare prices...
Yeah, I saw that link a long time ago... Kingpin is the best around. If he can't do something to a card, then its not worth it...
Regardless of how you want to compare them, the 4870X2 is ONE card, so two in crossfire is more than fair against three GTX280s.
By that logic, you can't compare a 9800GX2 to a GTX260/GTX280/HD4870. It may be two GPUs but that doesn't matter regardless of how you try to convince others it's 'unfair'. ATi have went their own way to provide the topmost 'high end' of their cards.
NV will have to follow that same route sooner or later. (they already have done with the 9800GX2, not much chance of there being a GTX280GX2 due to its problems)
I don't care about prices i look at it like this
ATI-datsun (cheap, you don't know what your buying and how long it goin to last)
NVIDIA-BMW (cost abit more made to last )
Thats a bit of a blinkered attitude though.I dont care if my stuff is ati or nvidia/amd or intel,i go for the best bang per buck.
I don't mide AMD CPU's i've had 3 set ups that were great, but there video card i see as a cheap way to make them a buk, most games have NVIDIA logo, and i've had a few ATI cards and they mite proform up with nvidia cards at the time but they don't hold a stable frame rate.
Terrible comparrison that doesn't even make sense anyway. You can't compare a car to a graphics card.
Considering how well ATi is doing against NV right now, makes your comparisson even worse. You're obviously just an nvidiot fanboy .
The HD 4870X2 is going to be quite a bit faster than a GTX280 for the same price, or maybe slightly more, how does that fit into your comparrison?
Are you going to then go onto about brand reliability? Because for every ATi card you would most probably list as having failed, there would be many more NV cards that have failed that you would ignore.
Fact is you get failing products within nearly all areas, it's not like comparing a QTEC PSU to a Coolermaster/PCP&C/TAGAN PSU. :shadedshu
You fail for trying to misinform people.
well out of the 10 system i've had i've used 3 ATI cards, they have been fine one died with out ocing, once again out of those 10 system i've had 11 nvidia cards, one died and thats because it was a used card sold as new, im not saying ATI cards are crap im just saying, the brands they use on there cards could be better, if not cars
old PS3 Nvidia made with top parts
new PS3 ATI Cheaper parts, still does the job
that is pure marketing - nothing else.
yer it is but i havnt seen a ATI one for 2 years
I think you need to go back to analogy school...
The cost of parts doesn't mean anything when they both work, as you said yourself, you don't think they're crap, so you're kinda cancelling out everything you say because you keep contradicting yourself.
Because ATI would rather let the figures do the talking? Maybe? I don't know but what i do know is that just because there is an Nvidia logo on my UT3 splash screens it does not mean my ATI card can not hack it. In fact it does every thing rather well.
I never said ATI was crap, i said i don't care about cost when buying a card or any think else, like i said things made for each other work better than things that are not, that are put together to work. if i get a system nvida board with a nvidia card, i buy EVGA BOARD so i get a EVGA CARD, works the same with ati, and memory
That's not true though, it's just a preference of yours. Your video card and motherboard both being EVGA doesn't mean they'll work any better. Same as putting an ATi graphics card on an AMD motherboard. Considering that an intel board with crossfire works extremely well and is extremely popular goes to show that what you've said is simply not true, and just your preference.
and why is that because intel only makes board for crossfire not sli, NVIDIA CHIPSET WITH NVIDA CARD, ATI CHIPSET WITH ATI CARD, and why is it popular because it intels own chipset
Very nice mon thanks for the link outstanding numbers.
Not true im running an Asus Maximus Formula with an 8800gts(g92) and it runs without ANY problems
hey guys just chill out! Put LN2 cooling on your heads
wow that fanboyism in its own league its like rangers versus celtic in scotland except less alcohol.
it doesn't happen much but now an then it does
