Don't believe everything you read on the Internet. I've personally tested the above claim and found the temperature and performance to be the same with or without renaming furmark.exe. Besides myself, a few others have also tested their own setup and came to the conclusion the above claim is false. They were likely made by Nvidia fanboys.

softshadows fps are still half of what they were regardless of renaming the .exe
