I can not guarantee, but from my experience, it should work... I used one MSI and one PowerColor 4890 boards in Crossfire configuration without problem.

Keep in mind that your peak power consumption will probably reach and exceed 600 Watts. Also, you'll have to deal with a serious amount of noise.

No ramifications. They should both work fine together.

But, take it from me, you can save yourself a good bit of money, and just buy a 4870 1GB. The added gpu the 4870X2 gives is almost useless at 1920x1200. I know that from first hand experience.

Less than half the cost of the X2, and it's got an upgraded cooler and factory OC.

You could buy an SSD or just more storage with the leftover money (because lets face, You can never have too much storage. lol)
