Hey guys

I am thinking of buying a 4k monitor , seems all reviews show benchmarks of 290 on ultra , which i know is not sufficient .
will a 290 be sufficient for normal quality on modern games , ( bf3 , bf4 for example ) .

Thanks

Yes, be warned that some of these 4k panels though have issues on the 290/x so I would research them before you purchase due to problems with the refresh. The AOC 28inch is a good buy for 4k and the issue is resolved.

That one is one of the 2 main ones that tend to have issues with the R9 290/X series sadly so I would advise against it. It causes flickering at refresh rates 40hz+ and from what I have seen it has not been resolved on all models yet. I could be wrong but I had not seen any resolutions posted yet for the issue and its something to do with the way those panels on the monitor interact with the cards via DP.
