I am looking to get a 5.1 headset
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826502007)
and I was wondering if my soundcard will be able to use it.
On the back I have a Orange, Blue, Black, Green, and Pink plug, but I am not sure if this is 5.1 capable.

All I can find about my Sound card is that it is a SB Live! Wave Device WDM
Device, no other specific information.
Will I be able to use the headset to the full potential?

EDIT: If there is a better 5.1 headset out there, please let me know about it =]

That's the thing, I can't find any information about this sound card.
dxdiag doesn't give me anything to go with.
I'm gonna pull it out and see what the card says..
but SB Live! Wave Device WDM is all it's given me

the card says SB Live! 5.1 on it, so it must be 5.1

There ya go. Most SB cards work with 5.1 Headsets, minus some of the older ones.

I would recommend the Turtle Beach HPA2's, much stouter, better sound, very comfortable, just overall kickass!

http://www.google.com/products?clie...a=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

The X-52's you're looking at have an issue with the earcups breaking off due to weak hinges...the HPA2's have metal hinges, frames, etc. Pretty well built, I've had mine for a long time, still work good as new...they can also go very loud if needed, they do bleed sound due to the mesh, but they're worth it imo!

Man, The eDimensional Audio FX 5.1 pro's are some of the most awesome head sets I have ever seen!!! They flat rock out when gaming, and you can adjust your bass right on the cord itself!
