Quite comfortable w/ our desktops at the moment but when we are out and about, need to have our lappies. Have been waiting for the initial early adopter price penalties to die down seeing pricing from $2800 - over $3k with the CPU and GFX card we wanted, some compromises with SSDs and RAM. For the last 30 years, we have been using custom built models as we can install the OS, no bloatware and far better service. But our supplier advised that they, at least temporarily, closed their doors giving us a reason to sit and wait.

The frustration was growing and almost bit on a couple of MSI model ... I said I would wait till mid-year, looked today and jumped on the following custom builds.

Laptop 1 (< $2,400)
Intel Ultra 9-275HX
RTX 5070 Ti
2 x 16 DDR5 5600MHz
2TB Samsung 990 Pro
No Dead Pixel Guarantee
Card Reader
16" 240 Hz 2560 x 1600 G-Sync Screen

Laptop 2 (< $2,400)
Intel Ultra 9-275HX
RTX 5070 Ti
2 x 16 DDR5 5600MHz
2TB Samsung 990 Pro
No Dead Pixel Guarantee
Card Reader
17" 144 Hz 1920 x 1080 G-Sync Screen

I expect other suppliers will follow, but glad this popped when it did as I was getting sneered at for too many week now. Of course that means prices will drop again in the next week, ... but at least the whining will stop and I will get some peace.
