Jesus, these next gen cards just get bigger and bigger. Wouldnt surprise me if a new form factor of case called "OVER 9000" had to be released just to fit these monsters in.

Erm the ends of graphics cards can flex and bend off to one end slightly, but im sure that manufacturers would fully test any chances of flexing / snapping before releasing the product for sale.
Good point though mayo

Aren't those scores a bit low? That's like.. 5k 3dmarks lower than my 275's in SLI with only 18k CPU score...The driver is definitely not optimized.

So why ATI made the Rv700 with two GPUs instead of a single 512mm² die?Too hot and no real benefit over a bigger GPU. A dual GPU die would use more transistors than a GPU with twice the SIMD cores or ROPs and the latter would perform better anyway. Thanks to the highly modular designs of late GPUs can be harvested to various degrees and the result is better than harvesting based on cores, since you can save up more than half of the chip.
A dual core with two dies is kinda pointless for GPUs too, because of the reasons FordGT mentioned. Two separate dies don'¡t afffect performance from two dies on same socket, because latency is not a concern in GPUs, not to the point of CPUs.
