ordered this Wednesday got it next day plugged her in flashed DDWRT and off to the races
absolutely destroys my RTN-66U in usb-storage performance wifi range is mediocre on the 5Ghz band 2.4 is fairly good for not having external antenna and it does do beam forming

down-side .. runs a bit hot 75C out of the box. slapped a fan on the back of it ghetto style and its rocking 1GHz at 45C it boogies ....

N66 has only got USB2.0 so you'll have a massive boost!

How does the signal compare with the N66 in my experience without external antenntae signal really does suffer

they are completely different radios
if you want reliable 5ghz in less than ideal operating conditions you absolutely need external antennas
simply remove the 3 screws holding the front on
remove it
carefully remove the shielding tape undo the 3 wires from the u.fl connectors and connect your u.fl to RP-SMA pigtails
after that you can drill the plastic out and mount the antenna
would I pay 130.00 bucks for this router
hell fucking no
is it worth 60 and some modding
hell yes
edit: new ddwrt build is up
