Personally I'd go for the 6800, higher clock rates, so therefore higher performance.

I can't tell you how much of a performance boost a 6800 can give you over a 6600 as I have no idea, and it depends on what model you have of the card.

I have a 6800 Ultra, though it's not manufactured anymore from what I read up, though please do correct me if I am wrong.

In my opinion though, I'd say you'd do better with a 6800 though they are quite higher in price in some cases... Just wait for more people to respond... Maybe you can get more juice out of other people, hopefully you will :)

Considering the fact that a 6800 is easy to overclock. It's smart to take that one. There is also always a chance that you can unlock the 4 extra pipelines if not the 6800 reaches 6800 GT preformance just by overclocking pretty easy. So basicly you can get more preformance out of the 6800.

 if you are going for nvidia save a bit of cash first and go for a 7800 gt ... i have one. cant say
anything bad about it good alround performer.....:D they also seem to be getting cheaper too
But if you are thinking of the cards you mentioned i would go for the 6800 if i rember rightly it has more pipelines correct me someone if i am wrong..

Im Interested in upgrading my PC

but just 3 main parts... Motherboard, CPU, Graphics

I was thinking of getting the following: -

Motherboard - http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Produc...LanID=9&DetailID=493&DetailName=Specification

CPU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Socket_939_cpus.html *(4TH ONE DOWN*3500+)

Graphics - Between a 6600GT or Radeon x700/x800

Any recommendatins in the graphics department

i play CS:Source and Battlefield 2 - And i wish to be able to play on High detail with an average of 80/100fps

also is the motherboard/cpu any good??

P.S I have 1gb DDR400 RAM

Thanks

Joe

My personal recomendation nVidia 6800GS or or X800GTO2.
And get a better mobo this ECS is a just mobo for word and exel nothing more. For O/C or stable work see Asus A8N-E, Epox 9NPA3+ or Abit AN8.For CPU choise is A64 Venice E6 3000+ or 3200+. Diferences between 3500+ and other is just multipler same cache same core same temperature different price.Choise is yours.
