Hello ! as the title says can you flash an 6750XT from Gigabyte 12GB OC model ? I want to edit the bios with MPT and flash it but I get an error that .ROM is not supported.

Do you guys flash these cards ?

Thanks !

just use MPT to write the SPPT and apply it again in three seconds after every driver update.
no reason to brick your card.

I tested to write SPPT but clocks go down to 500 MHz ... and thats the reason I want to flash a BIOS ?! am I doing something wrong ? I just want higher memory overclock and higher power limit ...

There must be something I'm doing wrong ... but for example 15% power limit if I raise it to 20% the same things happens clocks go down to 500 MHz and performance goes down the drain :)

this is not how it works. you have to increase the powerlimit in watts.
memory and core clock is LOCKED.

Please help me understand do I need a modified driver or something ? or MPT works for only lowering clocks/power values/etc ?

I modified only the W part in 2 places. I will give a try now :) have to reboot I think !

save your bios, load it in MPT, increase the powerlimit to whatever wattage you want, write sppt. reboot.

Without modifying the current in Amps it works ? power is derived from volts and amps thats why I ask ?

lift them up a bit as well. (but don't touch SoC)
it's a lot of fiddling for maybe 1-2% more performance.

Done it it works ! But I have more question ... The card has a poor heatsink and even if I lapped it and modded the cooling with 2x12cm high static pressure fans the hotspot delta is quite big. I think the heatsink since its direct heatpipe contact to GPU have imperfections in manufacturing (Gigabyte) and one of the sensors for temperature monitoring is going quite high 110C and the delta is 30-35 degrees. I already used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on it and helped only a bit. Also changed the memory thermal pads to Grizzly ones.

Can I disable the HOTSPOT throttling in MPT ? or it is a very stupid idea ?!

what are you trying to do with that card?
if you want to destroy it just throw it out of the window.

you can not disable a protection that would otherwise degrade it in days and destroy in weeks.

I just dont understand why I have such a big delta T between GPU core temp and HOTSPOT temp ... 61C for GPU and 111-112C for HOTSPOT while playing Cyberpunk. The card does throttle a bit and clocks stay at around 2600-2650 MHz .... I've tried everything to cool it down but I think the heatsink is just crap ? maybe its not making contact with the GPU so I need to increase the pressure of it towards GPU die ? maybe sand the nuts that sit on the board so I can get it tighter ? Tried washers but no go nothing changed.

I also tried to look for a waterblock but couldn’t find any for 6750XT Gigabyte 12G OC model … Alphacool suppose to have one for 6750XT (reference I think ?!) and 6950XT but its not listed as available … i just want this card to be limited by power not throttling due to hotspot…

Did you try repasting the card?

Yes I did and I wrote that I’ve used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. Also tried MX5 and so on not a huge difference… I think the heatsink is crap … I will only buy Sapphire from now on ! Had a Vega64 Nitro LE it was a sweetcard for sure …

My 5700xt would do something similar, the difference between core and hotspot was insane. As far as i remember it was mostly a feature of rdna that could be worst if the actual card cooling wasn't that great (it was my case)

And I’ve tried washers to increase pressure… also lapped the heatsink… went for bigger and more powerfull fans … since I lost warranty a long time ago I’m just out of ideas how to get more from it and lower hotspot. Undervolting only works to 1175mV anything lower is not stable.

I have 5x12 cm fans 3 intake and 2 exhaust and the CPU is watercooled and its only 65W Ryzen 5600.

I had to undervolt mine, and it worked, it would actually undervolt nicely. Keept it cool and quiet and i sold it and i know it's still going strong. You may have got screwed in the silicon lottery, it's also a lesson you learn, like i did, don't buy cards with shit heatsinks unless they are low end.

Can the backplate be a problem ?!? I didn’t take it off and it doesn’t have a cutout at the GPU backside ?!

i just want this card to be limited by power
you mean.....like how they are designed by default? lol
One comment you're asking to flash a GPU to give it more power, and in another comment you want to limit the power....ok?!

if you would like to limit the power and therefore by theory limit the thermals to a lower temp you can simply use AMD Radeon Settings and lower the power % slider, click apply, donzo

For what it's worth I H20 cooled a reference design RX 5700 XT by Sapphire and I thought the hotspot delta was wide on air.....it got worse (wider aka bigger delta) on water! Now don't misunderstand this, the temps were significantly reduced with water cooling, but if it was peaking at like maybe ~25C delta on air, it would then go on to peak at like 30C or 32C delta on water. I did have the card OC'd too, which is why those deltas were the way they were. It was more like 22C to 25C without an OC. If the 6000 series equivalent to a RX 5700 XT is similar at all, and you got the jucied up "50" variant at that, they might just be hot also. You would want to read reviews to see if your particular model is behaving normally or is totally out of line with the avg user.

backplates will soak up more heat. if you removed it or if it had a cutout the temps would actually be higher. backplates are an important component it keep GPUs cool.

if it's plastic take it off
huh, I guess I haven't been around the block enough to see a card with a plastic blackplate. not going to do shit for heat transfer, but I suppose would still be suitable for protecting all the components on the backside of the PCB from physical damage

The card doesn’t have reviews only the 6700XT model from gigabyte. Will look further maybe I find something… maybe I got double screwed by silicone lottery and by Gigabyte with this crap cooler so I can only undervolt and use it as it is.

so it doesn't sag as much and it looks better, i guess, but they exist.

The card doesn’t have reviews only the 6700XT model from gigabyte. Will look further maybe I find something… maybe I got double screwed by silicone lottery and by Gigabyte with this crap cooler so I can only undervolt and use it as it is.
also for what it is worth, I undervolted my 5700XT also. It ran originally in a 2009 Mac Pro running Windows 10 before going into a Z390 system which is when it got H20 cooled. When on air in the Mac Pro it was undervolted so I didn't have to hear that fucking leaf blower ref design cooler quite so loud lmao. undervolting is really not such a bad idea. if your card and case can handle the higher power and clocks and all that then by all means MOAR POWAH! but if all the variables aren't lining up you can do good stuff with undervolting. You can reduce voltage by 10%+ while only losing maybe 3% performance but reducing temps by 15% for example. Start with something like this

If default voltage is at 1.2V, lower to 1.0V and see what happens? Maybe lower the GPU clock by 50 or 100Mhz. Same principle of setting up OC, but going in the opposite direction
