6970 or 570

I currently have a 6870. Want more in the graphics department because Im going to be getting BF3 soooo $360 is my max at this time. The reason Im asking is they seam to be so close on the benchmarks. Im running a single 1920 X 1080 LG 23" W2340V for now

id get the Evga Classified version with the improved and increase in VRMs so that you don't have hte issue with it popping like a lot of the reference ones have been known for. VRMS blowing when overclocked and overvoltaged

Gah, too much money for 570's. You can pick up a used 580 for under that. Better yet, grab a HD 7870.

yeah i forgot about the 7870s. Id also try and find a used GTX580 before anything though.

With a Corsair TX650, I'd go with the 7870. 580's can suck some juice!

Tough choice. I don't care for buying used GPUs its tempting but Im probably going to go new. Maybe Ill wait for the 7000 prices to drop a little and find some more cash for a 7950. I dont think the 7870 is going to suffice

the HD7870 does a great job, it's never than the GTX570 but still it also got 2gb of memory and since u wanna games BF3 which luv memory usage take 2gb or something.

Yeah, I think the whole 78xx series are generally a little scarce, I dont know how much of a hurry you are in, I should think they'll become more available in the next couple of weeks/months.

I've always liked and prefered HIS, and they mostly made me wait with getting their products on the shelf...

You say you wouldn't want used but here is food for thought 79xx cards are only a few months old if it's even that you have a 1 year standard replacement so you have 9 months to stress test it before you need to worry. Some even have extended transferable warranty

And most of those transferable warranties arnt worth the paper there printed on. Ive dealt with XFX in the past and wont by there cards any longer. It not that I wont buy used Im actually watching a couple of cards now I just would rather not. For the price they go for on E bay I might as well buy new. The 9650 2Gb have been going for 225 to 250 used 6970 320. I only have one PCI-e...

You can also get a used 448 core 560 Ti for like nothing. I saw one go on ebay for $180 the other day. They OC past 570 speeds and have great vrms.

Actually, if you can find one, if you don't care about power consumption, a 2nd hand GTX480. If not a 7800 series would fit the bill.

i understand but new or used you run into DOA issues i wasnt trying to persuade you to do something your not comfortable doing just giving u options. for $320 you should be able to find a 7950 or 580 used, as 7970s are avg $450 used on forums not on ebay...ebay adds fees so people over price items. if you want new for $320 id go with 7850 and OC that mofo or pick up a 570 or one of the earlier 448 cores. if your not in a rush gxt 580 may come down in a couple months and that is one beast of a card but power hungry also
