Hi. i bought a faulty 7850 (saphire 1gb oc)
from the description i was 90% sure it was a 2d clock issue so i bought it.
set it up and ran gpu tool set to test for stability. 1st thing gpu was pumped to 3d clocks the tearing and glitches on screen went away cofirming my issue (i had same problem when i over clocked my 5770 so i figured i could fix it/work aroound it)
ok the app that fixed my 5770 over clock issues was amd gpu tool. if i did even a 1mhz oc on my 5770 the 2d clocks messed up and i had the same problems. but amd gpu tool would overclock the card and force the card to always be in 3d mode.. AMD GPU tool wont support a 7850 though (i really wish it did)
Msi after burner profile settings dont seem, to fix it.
trixx wont fix it.
infact every app i have tried fails to fix it..
the only way i can get it stable "for now" is to have gpu tool testing for stability in the back ground which puts the gpu at load, and stop that when i want to play a game.
i decided to dump the bios and edit it. but RBE dosent support the 78xx cards either.
so right now im kind of stuck..
What i want to do is edit the bios set 2d clocks to 900/1200, maybe get rid of power play too.
i tried making profiles and edit them so want 0 was at the values i wanted, but that dosent work either..
So any one know how i can edit the bios.
or an app that forces the gpu to 3d clocks all the time without putting it under load.
i have tried setting use constant voltage and dissable ULP but none of it has worked.
the only thing that works is having the gpu under load so it uses the 3d clocks..
