So I've installed, reinstalled and updated my drivers countless times to try to fix this, I'm not sure what else to do but RMA it.

the buzzing changes with fps, even with vsnc on there is a very loud buzz through the speakers

any suggestions?

I've heard that VRM's can buzz. I know of no solution other than RMA.

Are you sure its coming from the speakers or from the card its self?

If its coming from the card then its probably capacitor whining and nothing to worry about. Buzzing coming from your speakers might be a motherboard issue/ audio driver issue. Then again, your speakers could be dodgy.

When I stop the fans I can hear it coming from the card itself, it's also the same pitch that I'm getting through the speakers.

And I also hear some interference when I drag things across the screen, or highlight stuff, sounds like someone scratching when I do that stuff

What Relinquish said - Your speakers/sound card are receiving interference from other components in your PC, this causes "Scratching" sound when moving things around.

Specifically whining sound in your speakers are indeed interference from graphics card's power section. What I want to say is - by getting new graphics card you could get rid of whining , but probably not from "Scratching" noises

Got the same problem with my HD 4870, the bearing that the fan spins on is going out, so I'm getting a horrible cracking / falling / scratching fan sound, until it decides to level itself out and not make noise. Whenever someone comes over and hears it, my only excuse is, that its just like a diesel, gotta warm up to perform! Haha.

thats what happens to Integrated Sound Chips on the motherboard. Only solution to get rid of that noise is to get a Real Sound Card
