7900 GTX/GT Price Cuts

Even if the performance is similar with todays high end ATI and NVIDIA cards, it looks like NVIDIA will win through lower prices. In the UK, you can get a 7900 GT for £164.95, and a 7900 GTX for £259.95. You can find them here, at overclockers.co.uk. Nvidia isn't the only one slashing prices, the X1900 series is also seeing large price drops. You can get an X1900 XT for £239.95, and an X1900 XTX for 269.95. You can pick some up here, again from overclockers.co.uk.

At last some competetive prices for us brits! You can get the Sapphire 1800xt 256meg on the same site for about £175, which would you choose between the 1800xt or the 7900GT @ £164.95? am thinking of a little Birthday present next month but I did read a review that showed that there was not a great deal of difference in performance between the 1800xt and an 850xtPE, the 1800xt won most tests but not by a huge margin and more or less drew with the 850xt in a couple. (Not taking into account SM3.0 and all that brings of course). From the review I just read It would look like the 7900GT is marginally faster than the 1800xt....about 5%, sound about right?
