7900GTX or 7950GX2

hi

rite im in a bit of a weird sittuation here, i am selling my 2 6800GS to one of my friends, and obviously i need an upgrade, i have a budget of around £250 maybe £270 max.

now my friends have the 7900GTX and its a sweet card no doubt, but i've been reading some reviews and the 7950GX2 is better in some cases, but sometimes the 7900GTX performs better.

i am stuck, i dunno which one to go for ive read the tech power up review and plenty others.

has any1 had experience with both? or any of them, which would you recommend?

any comments would be appreciated.

i was thinking of that but i dnt like the 7800 series cards tbh, and im not looking to overclocl or owt, if i get a 7900GX it will be the XFX version.

if you play titan quest, and titan quest alone, get the 7900gtx. otherwise get the gx2 (titan quest has no sli profile)

Only joking Gri. 7900GTX FTW!!! Someone here confirm my suspsions about GX2 heat please. I heard they run at 70*C idle. Is this true? If so that's a lot of hot air pumping into your case.

What is the difference between the cost.
Bc I have seen many benchies and they are pretty close.
I personally would prob. go for the 7900GTX since they are cheaper and it doesnt seem worth the extra money for the other.

well online retailers are about 290-330 but im buying from an ebay shop which will be cheaper. at around 250, i dunno i like the 7900GTX cz it looks rele gd and i no it performs well. the 7950GX2 looks cheaply made in a way if u think that there is two cards in one. but i dunno, difference is about 20 to 30 £.

stock air cooling idles around 50-55C load temps were as high as 80C

thats is th only reason why i wud go for that card tbh cz performance wise they both nearly the same, nt a major difference.

Nope, i've had nothing but great performance with it

The swiftech spacerkit is a must for this card.... even makes stock cooling OK....
