8600gts in local shop a week ago

Get this, I go down to my local pc shop 2day for a look and lone behold they have about 6 of the 8600gts video cards for sale on the shelf, in proper boxes from BFG, I ask how much they are and he says 370. He then tells me that they got them in on monday...

I didn't even think it was out yet.... :confused:

yeah i thought 370 was a little steep even for australia. Considering the bench marks it was getting...

sounds like they need to stop spending all this money on advertising, and focus more on product.. I dont like how they pay game companys off to say "works better with nVidia!".

ohwell it helps them get more sales anyway... not trying to be a big fanboi, I do give the 8800gtx the respect it deserves for working so much better than past gens where they chose fps over image quality.

lol! I thought they were ages off coming to shops in US let alone Australia first and now! $370 is a rip for 8600gts I think coz 8800GTs is cheaper and better, I'm not sure wether to consider a 8300 or 8500 series or just use X1650 Pro for now. X1650 Pro isn't so bad that I wish I had a new video card and usually like to wait untill I do wish that before I get one. Mabey if 8300 or 8500 series cards are well priced.
