8800gt drivers

i just pick up a evga 8800gt superclocked 512mb yesterday, i must say im very impressed this blows the doors off my hd3850 3dmarks06 got close to 10k, with the 8800gt with stock clock, i only got 10648, so i turn my cpu & ram up a little more then oced the card a little too 700/1700/2000 i got 11025, is that normal, or should i be getting more hear, also whats the best drivers for this card...

that seems about right to me tbh but im guessing your cpu is holding you back a bit.

check in alcapones 3dmark06 thread to see how you compare with others.

the ati 2900/38x0 are quite good at 3dmark generally...in games i think the margin is a little greater.

i agree there, 3.1ghz seems to be my limt, even still i should be hitting atleast 12k doesnt add up

What is your memory speed and timings?
What is your fsb at?
What is your HTT at?
Are you turning off as many processes as possible?
Vista or XP? Tweaked... or not?

fsb 239
htt 1958 x4
22 processes with norton disabled
i turned off virtual memory, maybe that could be it
i shut off everything i could in system services
i just did i fresh install of windows long format
all drivers patch have been updated etc
mostly everthing is my bios has been disabled or set to manual

If your running two sticks of memory run them at 1T. Turn virtual memory back on and set your pagefile on your 2nd drive. Try bumping your memory divider up one to OC it more. Right now I assume it's running at 878mhz. Your HTT must be at 958 not 1958, but you have some more room there.

I tried 1T even at stock, bios wont even post for, the memory your right. stupid thing is my board i doesnt have a options to choose dividers only pc5300 pc6400 pc8500 etc

try using the tweakforce drivers here

they are a hell lot more optimized

, its what i used maybe it will eek out a few more 3dmark points
