8800gt faster than 8800gts?

some one said 8800gt will be faster than 8800gts.... but thats unbelievable.

who can confirm?

yep it does. awsome little card should be amazing on water cooling.

It beats a 640mb gts and even the 2900xt, theres a thread on it around the fourms.

how is that hard to believe? thought the memory is 256-bit, the gt has more shaders and faster clock speeds than the gts (112 on the gt vs 96 on the gts) and yeah it beats the 2900xt and the 8800gts (even the gtx in some benches) the 3870/2950 by ati is supposed to beat the 2900xt as well, dunno much more than that though.

just think of the 7900gt vs the 7800gt the 7900 wins hands down (even beats the 7800gtx) should be about the same comparison.

I have a black pearl motherboard.. welll the p5k premium mobo.. Black & Blue are my fav colours Black matches me well clothes-wise too. lol

I got my gts about 2-3 months ago on a very nice sale, so Im not losing out much by selling it... if it wasent for the mega sale, I would of waited up until 9800's release.

They are upgrading the GTS to have 112 shaders. Of coruse, the GTX is still king.

Aye, it's a peppy little card for sure, but I wouldn't expect people to drop their GTS 640s or GTXs just for one of these. I have a feeling some might not even swap out for the 98s, and rather wait till the lineup after that, or maybe at least the revisions.

Power consumption was generalized in that article in the news post earlier today.. if those Chinese suckers aren't lying, then it uses less power than the GTS, but runs close to GTX speeds... which is awesome! Depending on the 98's and AMD's next lineup.. I might have to grab one of these.

Don't be so sure. I'm guessing this little unit will handle the games I'm playing quite handily. I'm thinking about selling the ultra, buying one of these and waiting for the 9 series to hit.

It'll put about $250 in my pocket and get me a card that works great for cheap and with EVGA I can use the stepup and pick up a 9 series when they arrive next year and still probably max out the games I play.

Then again, I'll probably just buy one for my 2nd machine, sounds like a great 2nd card.

bit off topic, but i have doubts over it being superior to the xt, reguardless of that thread. as the xt can match the gtx in places, and if the gtx still beats the gt, then the xt will surely beat the gt in places also
