Im thinking of getting an 8800GT for my second rig..

    Heres the specs currently:
    E6600 @2.4ghz
    Asrock 4coredual VSTA motherboard
    2GB Geil DDR2 800mhz @800mhz
    Nvidia 7300GT 512mb DDR3
    Samsung Spinpoint 250GB SATA
    Samsung DVD R/W
    LG Flatron L204WS
    Antec Earthwatts 430W PSU
    http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=27430

Will this PSU give enough amps/watts to drive this card?
I have an LG Flatron L204WS flatscreen 1680X1050 native res to push with the best quality I can get for good price.

Until i changed my psu,i was running the rig in my specs with a seasonic 430watt,including benching at 4ghz.So possibly it will be ok.

Go for the corsair hx520w if you can tho',its a cracking psu for the price.

two 12 volts rails at 17 amp should be plenty.. looks like the claimed 430 watts is on the low (honest) side..

just bear in mind "watts" without other figures mean nothing.. always look for the real specs.. if there aint any forget it.. he he he

some claimed 650 supplies would not be as good as that one..

cool thanks guys... i know the new cards are lighter on the power requirements than the older cards were (X19XX series & HD2900).

I have an HD2900pro@xt clocks in my main rig, but i know that 430W PSU wont really be happy with it...

I hear that the new HD3XX cards an new 8800GT are lighter on power consumption but wasnt too sure if that antec was up to the task..

I'll see at the end of the month, maybe something else will pop up before then ;)
