I'm tempted to be honest. I am very tempted. However I have cash flow problems (student...) so I'm selling my X1900GT, some PRADA shoes and perhaps I'll sell the X1950XTX to raise some funds... What do you think mate? I love ATi/AMD but they're failing and I just can't be bothered to stay with the underdog if it's this bad.

Not worth £40 more than a 3870 me thinks.

I disagree completely. The 8800GT can do AA and AF without crippling itself, the HD 3870's can't.

TBH I think patience is the key here, there is no doubting that the 8800GT is the quicker card BUT if the 3870 is like the 2900XT was, then driver development by ATi may well bring it in line performance wise over the next couple of months. If you remember when the 2900XT was first released, it couldnt compete with even a 320MB 8800GTS, within a couple of months it was almost competing with a 8800GTX and beat it in some benchmarks....the way I see it, NVidia delivers the hardware and performance from the off but does not have a great deal of imagination when it comes to drivers, here ATi seems to take a while but usually gets there and beyond in the end, well that seems to be the recent history of it.

Of course noone can guarentee that will be the case here, the only sure thing is that today....the 8800GT is faster by up to 20% and a little more expensive.........My HIS 3870 arrived today!
