8800GTX doesn't want to be removed from MOBO!

It's been over 5 yrs. now since i lived in this forum asking everyone what i should get to build my gaming rig. She's still alive and well, but the bit@h won't release her video card to me.

I need to install another hard drive , and the only way to get the HD Cage out , is if i remove the 8800gtx vid card out da way. But when i try, i can see my thermaltake armour case bending cause i'm trying with all my might to unhinge the plastic clip that keeps the video card clamped into the case, and motherboard.

Is there some trick i can use? I can't find shiz on youtube, so i'm hoping someone here will drop some knowledge on me, before i drop some metal eating acid on that ho'bag vid card!

Here's my lil ho' in here heyday back in '07. Perhaps it will give you a chance to see some solution i hope.

No trick, just lift up on the plastic tab at the end of the slot and pull the card out, and make sure it is unscrewed from the case too obviously.

Yeah, it shouldn't hard to remove. Make sure the video card is not attached to the case and just lift the plastic catch on the PCIe slot to remove the card. If that doesn't work, it would seem that the card is siezed up in the PCIe slot, in which case my may want to leave it alone. If it's actually seized up in the slot, you could damage your MB trying to remove it.

Make sure you get all the clips holding your 8800 in place to release-

You need to remove it so the GPU stays parallel to the board, otherwise it might get stuck pushing on the slot locker.

Just remove the plastic front of the case of and unplug all leads to the icage and pull it out.
