Recently I found out that getting a -PRO bios lets you increase the OC even further.

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33667164

The only thing is, I don't know what mem I got.
I have little heatsinks on the ram, and I don't want to remove them.

I found out some stuff thou

R300 4P Hynix Memory BIOS - P/N 113-94228-100
2002/10/28 16:24

VER008.004.008.003 adbf1336.848 v611

SVID 1002, SSID - 0002, R300 x4, Samsung INIT script, MC_CNTL (0x00000022) at 0x1E7 & 0x0392, Memory config: 0x2240, PD=2, NTSC.

Timings: tWL = 1.0 tCL = 4 tCMD = 0 clock tSTB = equals tWrL + 1/2 clocks tRcdRD = 6 tRcdWR = 3 tRP = 6 tRAS = 11 tRRD = 3 tR2W = CL + 3 tWR = 3 tW2R = 2 tR2R = 2 MemRR = 20 tRFC = 20 tRBS = CL + 2.5 tERST = CL - 0.5 tQSREQ = CL + 0.5 tDQM = WL - 1 tDQS = WL - 1 tDQM_Adv = As specified tDQS_Adv = As specified

Using logic I foundout I have to got

Hynix HY5DU561622CT-33 256 Mbit 3.3 ns TSOP-II 66
Hynix HY5DU561622CT-5 256 MBit 5.0 ns TSOP-II 66
Hynix HY5DU561622CT-6 256 MBit 6.0 ns TSOP-II 66
Hynix HY5DU573222AFM-25 256 Mbit 2.5 ns uBGA 144

The ram is in an L-shape (duh)
and are square
(so perhaps since all tsop are long-shaped, it has to be the uBGA mem?)

pls someone let me know

And if I do only a biosmod, won't I need the softmod anylonger?

Software Windows 10 64-bit
square shaped = BGA
rectangular = TSOP

so you have bga.

So I got this ram?
Hynix HY5DU573222AFM-25 256 Mbit 2.5 ns uBGA 144

but I don't see any bios in the big list with this kind of ram on an 9500/9700-NP/PRO:(

what does the actual memory on the card say? it should have the model number on it.

I just searched on the cards for clues (since I couldn't remove the heatsinks on the rams) and found the foloowing.

PN 109-94200-30
S/N 180248 002685
P/N 1029422830 067378

On google I found that the "PN" is used as 9700pro.
But I saw someone with an 9500NP 64MB.
After that I foundout it has to be an powercolor or an sapphire(I never knew)

But since I found an exact match for
P/N 1029422830 067378

It is an sapphire with 3.6 hynix.
Or it could have 3.3

But I'm not taking chances, so I got the 3.6
If it is the wrong bios, would it hurt?

even if you got the a bios with the right memory, there's still a good chance that it'll mess up. it won't hurt the card, but it might prevent it from functioning properly or not be able to boot up at all. I tested several bioses before getting the right one for mine.. Just make sure you a) back up your original bios, b) have a spare PCI video card lying around so that you have something to restore on if it does mess up your vid card.

I had both

And, well, I'm running my new 9700pro bios from sapphire with 3.6 hynix right now.

I'll tell you even something more.
I tested my mem and it went already to 315 after some intens testing without probs.
Where BEFORE the flash, my max was 310!!!!!!!

If I'm correct, I can take it up to 350! :D

It was a hard search and lots of thinking to figure out my ramtype without actually seeing it:p

-here is a link you must read-
"I have a Connect3D Radeon 9700 Pro (BBA, 942 PCB v3.0). Using the ATiFlash utility, I flashed and tested 6 of warp11's modified BIOS's, as well as the original BIOS that came with my card"

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33667164

So I think that a bios mod + softmod works the best.

I'm off to bed now, and I'll let atitool determine my max mem.
