9500np to 9700np softmod locks up should I try the hard mod?

Hi

I have tried the differrent ways to softmod my 9500np to enable all of the 8 pipelines to be ~ to a 9700np. It is an orig. ATI red board with & the ram is in an L shape (samsung ram).
Atitool does say they are enabled after I install the drivers / softmod.

With both ways, (the softmod from here & omega's site) when I go to run any type of benchmark it runs for about 5 secs then just locks up (including my computer), but no artifacts what so ever

Should I even try to do a hardmod, then bios flash, or am I just asking for trouble (and prob. end with the same results.)

I am able to overclock it pretty well though however, I'm currently at 351/321 and prob. could go a little higher.

i dont think a hardmod would be a good idea. dont do it unless u have done a fresh install of windows with the softmod drivers. if that works, then u might consider a hard mod. if the fresh install of windows doesnt work be happy that u have a 9500np.

my advice to anyone is don't bother with a hardmod unless the softmod works perfectly, it's a lot of hassle and makes rma'ing a real pain in the arse if you ever need to. go with kRaZeD's advice and try a fresh install of windows.

if the softmod does not work, the hardmod will not work either

does the agp speed like 4x/8x will effect the number of pipeline active..
is it true dat the 1st batch of p4 are looked speed???

agp speed doesn't effect the number of pieplines at all
