wow, nice oc. very impressive. How long can you run your rig at those speeds( how fast do you go through the dice)?

depends how long until I get tired of filling up the pot

I can run my rig at 820/2050/1000 *(SLI) while gaming in a room w/ A/C

what voltages do you run the cards at?

lol, I'm looking at your dice pot thinking how good a copper one would look on my setup

my card's gmem runs at 2.12v(measured) The highest clock speed I've had stable was 1170(2340). That is the factory set voltage btw, and those speeds were acheived with the reference cooler. It dropped to 1140 when I switched to the accelero. Are you considering pushing your gmem farther?

DING DING DING we have a new entry boys :D

ive got my 3rd 9600GT cranking now, its an ASUS 1GB model with HDMI and the Glaciator Fansink

used to be that i could not budge her from stock speeds without a crash, however thats quite different now shes in a different box.

-------------Stock Clocks--------------Over clock
Core----------650mhz-------------------800mhz +18.75%
Shaders------1620mhz------------------2000mhz +19%
Memory-------900mhz-------------------950mhz +5.2%

a healthy increase across the board, and some apps/benchies are stable with mem at 2x1000.

benchmark scores to follow.

thanks man, im really glad she OC's, i've already returned 2 9600GT's before, the original stock 512mb one thats in this thread from way back (BAD high pitch squeal = RMA), and my first 1GB model that artifacted at stock speed = RMA

i thought this was a dud too until i got it in a different PC all by itself, instead of playing second fiddle to my 9800GTX.

now im happy happy happy :D

so, do ya think you configuaration was the prob and not the first two cards(cept maybe the squeel) I'm thinking your gonna do more than 8500 ppd with those cards :) my 9600 is good for 4300 -4600 ppd @ 825/2100/1000 and the 8600 is good for 2100-2300 ppd @ 875/1912/800. your 9800 should do quite nicely too:D

no the first 1GB one did artifact at stock speeds for sure, that one was a very deserved RMA (tried it in a separate box), and i have had the high pitch squeal before (8800GT) but the one on that 9600GT i had was unbearable, and it sounded like the card would literally explode if left long enough.

however the configuration was the limiting factor in Overclocking this new 9600GT....

I'm thinking your gonna do more than 8500 ppd with those cards :) my 9600 is good for 4300 -4600 ppd @ 825/2100/1000 and the 8600 is good for 2100-2300 ppd @ 875/1912/800. your 9800 should do quite nicely too:D

i think, from fahmon, my 9800GTX turns over about 5400 PPD, and the 9600GT folds at stock speed so far, so probably only about 3000-3500 PPD. so the hope is, that when the 8600GT is also folding, im after 10,000+ PPD

10000+ :toast:
I shut down my main pc for a few hours to watch the fights tonight. But it's working again. The team is progressing through the ranks now. I think we are gonna bump some of these peeps from the team top ten list too, or motivate some more folding :)

I can't wait to vmod my 9600gt, it's gonna happen one way or the other :)

just thought i would add that just now when gaming, i was playing TF2 at 800/2000/1900 and the load temp was never higher than 43 degrees centigrade as shown by the max value column in hwmonitor, and it idles at 33 degrees :p

asus glaciator cooler ftw!

Wolf man, i did it again... really sorry. This thread hasn't seen much action in a bit and it slipped my mind. again, my appologies. Your 1G 9600gt has been added.

the data sheet for adp 3208 has been discovered :) so ocp should not be a problem on reference designs now.
For those interested in vmoding the refence pcb: (i havn't tried it so read through carefully)

hey guys I just wanted to know how to disable the OVP protection on my reference design 9600GT

the card is a Inno3D 9600GT overclocked 700 core 1625 shader 950 mem but I change the bios to the latest one...

so what do I have to do to remove OVP protection? I have done the vmod 1.15 which is stable also tried 1.2 & 1.25 but OVP kicks in as I bench using 3Dmark06. without vmod I can only go 710MHz on core shader 1850 w/ 1.15 can only go 735 core 1850 shader.

I can only OC the core by 10MHz :(

tnx in advance...

here is my result on stock voltage 9600GT

720MHz on core was possible only in benching but longer gaming my PC would freeze...

well this thread caught my eye so i had to try and see what i could get my card too... here is the results..

----------------------GPU-----------Memory--------shader
Current Clock:~~~~~820 MHz~~~~1180 MHz~~~~2055 MHz
Default Clock:~~~~675 MHz~~~~900 MHz~~~~~1674 MHz
Overclock: ~~~~~+21%~~~~~~+31%~~~~~~~+23%

http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ak6w5/

and of course i will try and get some benchmarking apps, need to find some free ones first.
i will also take screenies if needed/wished when i get to the max the card will take.

everything on this card is default, air cooling, no V-mod, its just winter so i get a chance to overclock, summer its like 130F out so now is the best time. its 22F out ATM.

Wow didn't know this was still updated, I have my 9600GT just cranking away in my G/F's rig with a vGPU mod and AC S1 Cooler + Turbo Module. IIRC it runs 870/2175 1100. Which is a good jump higher than the 810/1950 from before (iirc). Great little card overall! Handles Fallout 3 effortlessly, and that's definately one of the more stressful games my G/F plays aside from CoD4, a bunch of indie games that usually require nothing major, and the new Tomb Raider demo. Still content with the purchase of that card months ago, it's been a champ and folds a ton!
