9600GT PWNED a HD3870???!!!!!

I know it's from tweaktown, but those guys do get out reviews faster than everybody else.
The Card's maker is Galaxy(yea not that hot,but they'll do)
I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say "We thought the 9600GT was suppose to go against the HD3850" Well yea it is in the same price range, But it totally kicked HD3870's ass in crysis. Like, WOW. (ok well maybe 9600GT and the HD3870 tied other times,but still,there's like a 30$ price difference.(210$ for a hd3870 and 180$ for a 9600GT)

umm, it didn't really perform much better but the 9600GT is supposed to go against the 3850 and I don't know what they used to get their results because in one of them it was a little faster than a 8800GT, not sure man

Err Nvidia's GPUs were always better than AMD's for crysis... i wouldnt go the 9600GT PWNS the HD3870 if I were you because thats only in ONE game. Thats crysis. Nvidia helped Crytek develop Crysis to a minor extent, but its pretty easy to see why the 9600GT beats the HD3870.

Being ethical, waiting for the launch-date to roll out a review. Those chinglish sites that roll out pre-release reviews beg for hitrate, something TPU doesn't, else we'd be having gaudy coloured graphical ads of Pedigree dog food.


But yes, the 9600 GT does look promising, if w1z wasn't joking in our chatroom, there should be some interesting 3DMark scores. (another reason why you should visit the TPU chatroom, we discuss interesting things there ^^)

my thoughts -

well, the admitted they have a factory overclocked 9600GT, and a testing against a stock clocked HD3870. Little one sided, IMO.

I find it interesting how much better the 9600 supposedly did in Vista test compared to the XP testing . . . possible poor ATI Vista drivers, ATM.

9600GT was never suppose to be on par with the 8800GT. All it's designed to do is perform 100% better than a 8600GT and match up to a HD3850 512MB and get into a catfight with 8800GS.
Still I'm waiting ....either gonna grab a 9600GT when it comes out if the price is right or jsut do a hush hush evga 8800GS.

I am fairly sure this is wrong. (the benchies, not the above poster, to the poster above, RIGHT ON MAN!) The 8800gs LOSES to the 3870, and the 9600gt is about on par... something is fishy.
