i have a 9800XT that will not overclock in ATiTool. As soon as I raise the core speed by as little as 1 MHz, I get Artifacts. How would I overclock, or is it not possible?

(Don't relate this to my previous post, as i am overclocking this core at 360 memory speed with no artifacts)

i agree with gr3if try some better cooling first, bench mark, if its good :D start overclocking :D

do you really want to make it crash?
a voltmod without water or at least a really good aircooling is like trying to cool a intel p4 840ee fanless only with heatpipes

hmpf should be but the 98xt is so hot that i personally wouldnt make a v mod
