It's decent. I went ahead with the Technet subscription and gotten a bunch of software and 10 keys per version, but it was $241 plus tax, but worth it for me. If I need a key I have plenty to use now.

I don't need a bunch of software, I just need win 7 lol..
I'm not even sure what the software is.
Office, photoshop?
I looked at their site but there was to much info on things not pertaining to anything that I need.
I assumed it was more for businesses.

I need DX 11...lol
Don't have $241 to spend on an OS right now unfortunately :(.
Not sure how the keys benefit me.
I could install it on as many machines as i want to?
I do have 2 computers, but still i could get 2 full versions of 7 for 180 not 240.

I'm sure I could use the full version to reinstall 7 on my pc as many times as I need anyway.
Theres no limit to activations that I'm aware of.

I'm very worried I don't understand something here..lol..
Like there might be some problems I may end up facing due to my ignorance of the subject.

technet gets you 10 keys for just about every MS program. win XP, vista, 7 (10 keys of every version, mind you), server OS keys, office, etc etc.


can you get 2 copies of 7 ultimate with office 2010 for $180? :p

Technically each year, however, based on the threads around this subject your keys are good for life. There are some obvious rules, but for the most part it's a great deal.

You're not supposed to use what you get on Technet for production machines, that's something neat I learned recently. I guess that rule is broken thousands of times a day though LOL.

lol ever since i bought a pc i joined the IT industry.
it's funny when you end up on the phone with microsoft support and you start answering their questions for them.

I had this last girl so frazzled I told her she answered all of my questions "lied" and left.
I felt bad...lol

Technet is great for those it applies to.

The limitations for technet is that you're meant to use the keys for yourself - you know, if you ran a PC store every PC for the store could use a key, but you cant sell the keys off in the machines you sell.


That said, most of my family runs off one technet account - the keys werent sold, they're on loan from the family member with the account (who i guess we could say, built the machines and loaned them out)
