Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Thanks for taking the time to show us these results!

I'd be a lot more curious to see 1080p though... I don't buy into the isolation of the CPU thing as the results typically do not scale proportionately as the resolution (and GPU dependency) go up. So while this is a good set of information, it's really only valid for 720p users. That said, I'd also be curious to see what a more mid-range or lower card would show at this resolution considering that is more likely what is in the rig instead of a last gen flagship (and smoking fast CPU). :)

Thanks for feedback. I try to find the best balance for this test. At 1080p ultra there are only 4 games that is CPU bottleneck (Cities Skylines , Far Cry 5 , GTA V , Totalwar Warhammer II).
Last time I notice something was wrong with my 9700K 5Ghz vs 8700K 5Ghz test. At 1080p ultra 9700K lead is noticeable while 720p low the gap is negligible.
Some settings hit CPU quiet hard like LOD / shadow distance in Cities Skylines , shadow / unit size / terrain in Totalwar , extended distance scaling in GTA V etc...
This time I try 720p ultra instead of 720p low so I still have those CPU intensive settings while reducing the impact of GPU bottleneck from lower resolution.
If I have 2080 Ti instead of 1080 Ti I will test at 1080p ultra for sure.

My thought process on this thread is who would buy a $500 CPU to game on a $80 monitor. The information is good though.

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
I think ram is holding you back - i can tell by the farcry benchmarks -- specifically the lows. The averages are still monstrous. Great post.

There is more than that... 1080p CPU testing has been done and all over the web. You'll see it with a 1080 Ti too. ;)

Brilliant testing, many thanks.

I was wondering if you could show the same results when comapring 1080 LOW quality settings?

competetive players often use 1080 low, using 144hz monitors (or more), to get maximum perfomance and fewer 'distracting graphics'. It would also put more stress on the cpu that way
