Played the demo very nice game, but so easy sometimes. Not very challenge game for me.

Yea this is my only gripe like i mentioned ealier, instead of the whole mission a failure when your spotted, it needs a cool down or run away period were you can hide again.
If you spotted a sniper in real life would you really want to give up trying to find him? I think not. Gonna try demo been waiting for a sniper game like this.

lol no he got a new mission GTFO!!!
Not necessarily. When we did missions with our scouts, they always had a back plan incase they ever were spotted by the enemy.

The object is to defeat the enemy, even if spotted. Sniper's don't just pack up and go home if someone sees them...they do whatever is necessary to complete the mission. ;)

If you wanted a real sniper experience why not just go lie in the woods covered in grass and shit for a few days.

I'd like to try sniper personally. I know it's not even 1/millionth as glamorous as the media makes it out to be.

There is a lot the goes into being a sniper. i took the McMillan sniper course at Ft Drum when they came up and taught it to our scouts and its very hard to hit objects that are REALLY far away!

Take it from an old ex-Marine...not glamorous at all. Keep in mind a sniper is just like any other grunt out there. They are expected and often have to do many of the same things others in the line companies do.

This is the truth! our scouts did more patrols in iraq than they did recon.

Yeah, they stupidly did away with sniper units in the Marine's in the early seventies only to realize the mistake several years later and re-instate us.

The way we did it in the army is that you start out as an 11B (Infantry) then when you get to your unit, you request for sniper school and if you get picked then you go and once your finished you are placed in the scout platoon BUT your MOS stays the same (11B)

I was an 11C (Infantry Mortarman). Army infantry only consists of two MOSes but we are technically 11B with about 1 week of mortar training LOLZ.

Us on the mortar range

Mortar/artillery is the most horrendous thing you will ever see. Still gives me the creeps when I remember walking thru an area that had just gone thru an artillery barrage. I can not even begin to describe it.

Funny, you don't look one bit like your avatar :wtf: How accurate can a mortar be?
A mortar is indirect fire. It is mostly controlled by an F.O. (Forward Observer) He calls us on the radio and gives us either a grid or a Distance and direction (polar) Then we use either the ballistics computer or the old fashion plotting board to get a charge, deflection, and elevation. then only number 2 gun fires (out of 4 guns cause number 2 gun is base gun) Once the round lands the FO will call in corrections (Either like Up or down or left or right) then once we get done adjusting, we re-fire number 2 gun. then if the FO is satisfied with the accuracy then he will call a fire for effect (this means all guns fire) then we will put like 3 rounds from each gun at one time on that target.

This seems like a long and complicated process, while it is complicated its actually not that long to do this whole fire mission if Fire direction control center (which is me) and the FO communicate quickly and the firing lines gunners are quick.

Thx, but I was looking for something like "on a fine day, we can hit within 5 metres of our target at 1Km distance".
