looks good, I'm assuming there is no option to get a Ryzen 3600 in Saudi Arabia hence the 2600. I personally would get an 256GB SATA III SSD for more space even if I had to sacrifice some benchmark speed but that's me.

Out of curiosity how do you know these parts will be available locally?

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
I would kill the hard drive and the separate SSD and just get a single cheapo 1tb (or a 480/512gb SSD to save money).

If you do go the 480gb cheapo option, then see if you can upgrade the processor to the 3600 from the 2600 - it would make a difference for him going forward.

If not then that's a great build either way.

Is he on the east sideby bahrain/aramco or west side? If he is by bahrain you might be able to find some SUPER cheap deals from the military base; guys leaving and selling their gaming rigs. The PX there also has a selection of parts from what I remember.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the NVME drive. You can still get a slick M.2 drive, but a SATA one. Most of the benefit of an SSD over a HDD comes from the very low access times. You still get that with a SATA drive... and it's not like the transfer rates are really low.

I agree that the NVMe is nice, but the money could be better spent elsewhere. A SATA SSD will be fast enough. The NVMe can easily be added later and made into a gaming drive.

I have the same PSU—it does a good job for what it costs.

The 128GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, while quite capable of containing OS and related programs, should be upgraded to a 256GB model at the very least.....SSD's function best and last longer IF you leave at least 20% free space (too long to explain why). Other than that, I can't fault the remaining components......perhaps PSU, but it's just me as I tend to go for overkill PSU.

The 760P while nice is too little small in terms of space for today's modern Computers. I would even go so far as to recommend the 660P over the 760P because I don't anticipate you doing anything that would take advantage of a fully fleshed out NVME drive like the 760P. With NVME (especially vs HDD) you will end up wanting more storage of that flavour once you see a game load from NVME vs HDD. I know it is more than double your current budget but it is also cheaper than any 1 TB SSD in the 2.5 form factor and faster as well, you will be happier in the long run.

Regardless though I would be interested in your final build.

I would go with a ssd nvme, whatever is on sale and is a decent brand, drop the mechanical hdd, unless you are sure you need 2tb anytime soon.

These days buying ssd/nvme under 512GB is almost never gonna get you the right $/gb price. 1TB better ofc if you can afford it, but don't go under 512gb. (that 660p 1gb @ 104$ looks pretty sweet)

You can always add the extra conventional harddrive later if you need the space or just add one or a couple from an obsolete system.

Wishing you had gotten a bigger ssd is a lot more annoying to fix then adding an extra hdd later, and I know plenty of people including myself that have wished they had opted for the bigger ssd in hindsight.

My suggestions:
0. forget about NVMe, and get the biggest SSD you can fit into your budget (Crucial offers good GB/$ ratio, other options can be Adata or Kingston; there may be others, but I'm not familiar with everything)
1. if possible, wait for the 1660 Super, it's just around the corner
2. if possible, wait for B550, it's also supposed to come out soon

The board in question only has 1
My suggestions:
0. forget about NVMe, and get the biggest SSD you can fit into your budget (Crucial offers good GB/$ ratio, other options can be Adata or Kingston; there may be others, but I'm not familiar with everything)
1. if possible, wait for the 1660 Super, it's just around the corner
2. if possible, wait for B550, it's also supposed to come out soon

0. Yes but the 660P is faster than any SSD and also cheaper at that capacity.
1. The 1660 Super may also be super priced.
2. The 550 has only been mentioned I honestly don't see that until Q1 2020.

It's QLC, that stuff is slow by construction.

I only said "if possible, wait". Even if not that cheap, either of those could push down the prices on current products.

He actually listed the Intel 760p which seems to be fairly decent (it has slow write speeds once the cache is full, but even those speeds are faster than most standard SSDs).

And 256 GB should be fine for the OS and apps and a game or 2.
I have a 500 GB Samsung Evo with Win 10 and my apps on it and it only has 74 GBs on it.

Compared to Fully fledged NVME yes but still 3+ times faster than SSDs and inexpensive as well. Don't forget the 5 year warranty.

Agreed

Ok guys i just cancelled the HDD + M.2 and replaced them with a 960 GB Cruical BX500 2.5" SSD the price is still pretty much the same , is that good or should i put a Kingstone Q500 for the almost the same price of the Cruical ? these two are the only SSD's that fit the budget.

Sequential speeds mean nothing. Random reads is where it's at and there the drive is decent, but not special (hence my recommendation to forget about NVMe and go for capacity instead): https://www.anandtech.com/show/12349/the-intel-ssd-760p-512gb-review/5

I have a 256GB OS SSD and it gets full from time to time if I forget to move some of the pictures I have already processed. Plus, we al know SSDs don't like to be close to full.
