Hey everybody!

I have begun to visit the comments section and the forums way more often the past few months. But I was wondering whether there is an easier way to get to the forum page of an article quicker than clicking "add your own comment" then getting the page link from the post page there (which is rather indirect) or clicking on the post number next to each comment (which isn't obvious). Even clicking on the discussion link at the top of the page directs to the comments right below, not to the forum page. This would be a feature I use if there isn't a method already.

Best,
ytt

That's what I do, too.

Any thoughts on where this could be added?

or clicking on the post number next to each comment (which isn't obvious)
That's actually a really nice solution, for the few people who want to go to the forums view

Not sure if I'm the odd ball, but rarely (pretty much only by accident) do I go to the home page.

Everyone has their habits, but what is it about the home page that brings you there? I stay on the front page of the forums, and thats where I "park" when I'm waiting for new stuff to show up. Also, I use a mobile browser, and the most recent forum posts have a nice rolling window to show links to new content in a thread. Just below that (while in portrait, to the right in landscape) is a different rolling window that contains links the news articles, but to the forums directly. The position of those links don't change as new posts are added, so latest news is always towards the top.

I say all of this to maybe get you to see a different way of using TPU forums. Again, I'm probably the odd one...

I used to be a front page to forums user, since the homepage has a light box/gallery for images, but the forums opening in a new tab drive me insane!

Any chance of changing the target attribute for links to open in the same tab instead of a new one?

I like the page format for reading news rather than the forums view.

On review posts there is a "Discuss in our forums" button, huge one at that, which is great, and it is right next to the social media links at the top of the page. Maybe adding a version of that next to the social media icons again in news posts would be the best fit, what do you think?

Maybe I should do that too; hanging out in the forums page as the main page, rather than the main front page. But the front page is so greatly organized that I can catch up on news once or twice a day very quickly, see what are the hot review pieces, and links overview for other websites as well.

I don't know why surely but perhaps it's because I moved away from unmoderated places like r/hardware and to here that I do not comment on all posts, but view and read more of them. Recently because there has been a flow towards my interests a bit more perhaps that I am visiting the comments/forum more.

Thanks, that's exactly our goal :)

Which links?
Just the numbered links attached to comments on the homepage.

And just want to echo others — the homepage looks great!

browser settings override that, or should, not 100% sure.

That’s really great! I’m a firm believer in only targeting new tabs with external links, and am honestly even shifting towards never opening a new tab.
