A PC for a friend

Hi!

One of my friends wants a cheap PC for everyday stuff like web browsing and occasional light gaming (no dedicated graphic card). Also, it would be nice if it was pretty small. I chose some random components with a 2200G for him, but I want you guys to check them first.

ASROCK AB350M Pro4
AMD Ryzen 3 2200G/2400G
~~HyperX 8 GB DDR4 2933 MHz CL17 Fury Black Series~~
HyperX 2x4 GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL15 Fury Black Series
Crucial MX500 250GB SSD
Seasonic ECO-430 T3 80Plus Bronze
Fractal Design CORE 1100

What do you guys think? Is this okay? Would you recommend something else?

It's ok but i would prefer Ryzen 5 2400G it will have more headroom

Well, does said friend going to eventually get a dedicated GPU? If not, then yes, its worth it. If yes, then no it isn't.

If he isn't a gamer or anything, then a 2200G would also work. But 2400 is going to have better overall performance. Since you are getting 3000mhz ram, I am assuming he is going to do light gaming.

Yes, some older games, but not enough to justify a dedicated graphic card.

I guess a 2200G is sufficient. In near future there will be higher end APU's anyway from AMD.

Perfect and nice cheap build , but i would recommend buying the same amount of ram (8 Gb) but choose a cheaper model , because it's overkill for this build .

Actually, there's no 8 GB DDR4 that would be significantly cheaper than the one I chose. I chose it because it said it is optimized for AMD Ryzen and it has a pretty high frequency (AFAIK it's more important with a Ryzen than the latency). The cheapest would be like €20 less and only 2400 MHz (also CL17 as the other one). So, I feel like the faster one could be worth a shot.

Does anyone else have an opinion about this?

Make sure to get 2 4GB kit to make 8GB so that the APU can work in dual channel mode.

And how about the optimization for Ryzen? Is it relevant? I can't see any 2x4 GB with it.

It means how easy to reach the advertized speeds without any hassle.

It's a good starter rig, plus if he wants to upgrade later he can get a DGPU and a ryzen cpu.

Ram advertized speeds. If it's rated ryzen friendly and 2933, it will probably reach that speed fine.

Iceshroom mentioned an important thing , make sure it's 2×4 so u can use dual channel .

That's what I'm looking for right know, but I can't see one that says it's optimized for AMD. Supercrit mentioned it means how hard it is to reach the advertised speed, but I don't know if it's only relevant with OC or not. If it is, then I guess I can just get any 2666 MHz kit.

It depends. In games -> not really. In simple tasks like browsing/watching movies -> not really. Unless he is zip-ing archives all day I would vote for a single stick of 8GB RAM. Later on if he decides to buy a second stick, it would be much easier. Otherwise he would have to sell the 2x4GB and buy 2x8GB. But listening what your friend needs, probably he will just use it like this for 5 years or so with no problem.

Yeah, he probably won't ever upgrade that PC.

Note that gaming would not be the main purpuse of this PC. Also, graphic card prices are still pretty much in the sky.
