A question concerning fan speed

Is it harmful in any way to leave the fan speed at 100%? Can this cause any problems? If not, then i'll leave it like that 24/7 :]

Rubbish. Its highly doubtful the fan will die any sooner at 100%. If the fan is going to die it will die regardless of what speed its running at, and for the sake of a graphics card burning up, what do you prefer? Going and buying a new £200 or so graphics card or a £20 fan? Your call.

fan will overheat needing another fan to cool the original fan.

Do it if you want, AFAIK variable speed was implemented to address noise issues, not to prevent premature wear so speed by itself shouldn't be a factor. However, dust is the main fan killer and the faster your fan runs the more dust it will suck in, meaning you'll have to clean it more often if you lock in on high rpm's.
