About i7 9700k and old mbd

So, I can get an i7 9700k at a great price, my only problem it is that I am not sure that my motherboard can work well with it, Asus Prime z370-P, I don't do overclock, only use at stock, so, my question it is: it will work well?

Make sure to update the BIOS and stock you'll be fine.
I'd recommend to check VRM temperatures with hwinfo and make sure it doesn't hit unreasonable temperatures, a fan over the MOFSET will aid in cooling as well.

tbh if he's got a decent air cooler,with a rear+top case exhaust he's gonna be fine

As others have said decent airflow around the vrm and good cooling on the CPU is going to be the biggest limiting factor.

That being said if you run any kind of AVX workloads the CPU draws around 200w and most likely too many amps for that vrm to handle without throttling.

If you leave all the Intel spec limits in place on the board you'll be fine as well but your boost after a couple minutes in something like blender will be around 4.2ghz for gaming you're golden though.

Just make sure that your BIOS version is 1002 or newer and everything will be fine.
