The ADATA XPG Gammix S70 M.2 NVMe SSD uses a PCI-Express 4.0 controller from Innogrit, for transfer rates of over 7 GB/s. Since this drive targets the enthusiast and gamer market, ADATA preinstalled a large heatsink on the drive, which makes a huge difference for temperatures.

There is an error in the specification chart, the drive is PCIe gen 4 yet is listed as gen 3, also the price is listed 200$, when in the conclusion it is written as 400$ MSRP with a link.

Aside from that, great review, never heard of this controller brand before!

Now we just have to see which controller, nand and dram Adata decide to ship to retailers now that the positive reviews are out.
Well, this controller is at least so far, only available in a single SKU...

After the sneaky switcheroo trick they pulled twice with their SX 8200 series, its unlikely they will attract anyone to buy their SSD now even with glowing reviews. That is the unfortunate fact. Adata basically shot themselves in both foot.

Many people will still buy because they dont follow news in forums. Whole pc sellers are gonna use them too. Nothing will change. While few of techers will avoid there are everyday new kids who just wanna pc and play on the games without interests what is inside of pc.

Hi,
It's one thing to drop price because sells are low but it's quite another to use the same spec's but change hardware and drop price a little to seem a good/ better price compared to other manufactures this is just fraud.

It’s not that only 1907 of 2048 GB is usable. It’s 2048 gigabytes, which is 1907 gibibytes. One is decimal, the other binary. The Windows explorer sizes are fubar. You need to check the actual bytes value in the properties window for the drive. I bet it’s actually 2,048,000,000,000 bytes. Different softwares count using either decimal or binary.

Yes, and I intentionally show the number so that people can relate to it and know what to expect

OK, but then your prefix for the 1907 should be GiB, not GB. Windows’ prefixes are wrong.

EDIT: It might even be worth clarifying that as well in the write-ups. The masses don’t really get it, and could possibly find the education useful.

You are right of course, but since nobody cares about using the binary prefixes and just uses SI, it makes no sense to confuse the reader even more
