Case Thermaltake Armor Plus
Power Supply Enermax 1250w
Software Win 7 Pro x64
Current loop:

I've got i7 920 @ 4GHz, mofset, chipset and XSPC RX480 + 4 Gentle Typhoon 1850.

I'd like to add GTX 480 in the loop.
I'm looking @ Black Ice SR1-240 + 2 Noiseblocker fans (http://www.noiseblocker.de/en/produk...ntpro_pl-2.php).

I read that Black ice 240 doesn't perform well with low-medium speed fan.

1. Will adding gtx 480 in one loop increase the temp? The CPU is running @ idle 34 and load 59 atm. ambient 20' celcius.
2. Should I get SR1-240 or another XSPC rad and gentle typhoon fans?

I'll be using 2 655 + dual top for single loop

I might fit 240 rad in the back with radbox and another 120 at the front (inside the case).
too many rad = flow restriction?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I'd put GTX480 in your existing loop first, do some benchmarks and watch temps.
I've got the feeling that RX480 will be enough to keep everything cool.

I've got a loop with 125W PhenomII and overclocked HD4890 and everything is kept below 40 degrees by just one XSPC RX240 ! (2x1450rpm typhoon at 7V).

I know that GTX480 is a very hot card and that you cool mosfets too, but I still think that your RX480 can handle it all.

Cheers,

I've got a loop with 125W PhenomII and overclocked HD4890 and everything is kept below 50 degrees by just one XSPC RX240 ! (2x1450rpm typhoon at 7V).

I know that GTX480 is a very hot card and that you cool mosfets too, but I still think that your RX480 can handle it all.

Will put this into consideration. :toast: cheers

I've just realised I made mistake. I edited my previous post.

My simple loop keeps both CPU and GPU below 40 degrees, not below 50.

That makes my point even stronger. RX480 is a beast, it should be enough for you.
Cheers,
