Then get the 5700XT and call it a day.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

Just so you know... playing a game on your TV at a non native resolution (4K UHD / 3840x2160), it will appear a bit fuzzy. So, IMO, I would save a bit more and get a card that can run games better at that resolution... something like an RTX 2080 or higher. The 5700 XT can do it, however you will need to turn down some settings.

in current gen only 2080ti offers reasonable 4k performance at 1200 euro price (2080s is close for about 700-800 euro)
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/xfx-radeon-rx-5700-xt-thicc-iii-ultra/6.html scroll 22 games test and see what fps you can expect from different models gpus.
some games can be very well played even on 5700xt @4k but others give hard time even on 2080ti.
check if the games you'd like to play are between review titles and see what fps you can expect for them

yes but it is very game dependent.
check fps numbers at review link I've posted. see if you can find games you'd like to play.
btw if you can tell us what kind of games or specific titles you'd like to play we can make better prepositions for gpu

Which games specifically do you play within those genres?

Those type games can get away with lower fps.. I surely wouldnt go anything less than a 5700xt...

well some open world and action/adventure games could be quite taxing. rts and isometric rpgs should be fine even on low end cards
you can go with cheapest 2080super

or get small performance hit and opt for the card with better cooling
I personally would pick card with triple fan cooler

make sure you check local prices for other models too. pcpartpicker offers quite limited list of gpus with prices

Either sacrifice some image quality or spend more for a higher tier graphics card for 4K.

But 4k at 30 or 60 frames it's possible right?

30 fps PC gaming is not something you want, you want at least 60fps.

for 4k gaming OP can lower down AA to as low as possible which should reduce performance hit a lot w/o too much sacrifice on the image quality

sekiro get 60+ fps at max settings with 2080(s), witcher 3 is 65-70fps, god of war, uncharted and death stranding are ps exclusive no idea about the other games.
so from lists I've made about 1350-1450 budget for 4k gaming build should be enough

AMD will add to the 5700XT rtx technology enabled via software. No one knows if they will do it for other cards also. This is speculated for the end of this year.
You are golden with the 5700xt. I would not even look twice at the nvidia cards

You can even consider getting something cheaper than the above mentioned. Just something that will work for right now, and get the RTX native AMD card next year.
The RX 590 is an amazing price right now. You can even go for the 580 and won't have any regrets. The Rx 580 is around 190$, amazing value.
Consider that my rig holds Borderlands 3 at 2k steady, and the rest of the lot. So there you have it.

I am really pushing for the idea that whatever is out right now, for me it's not worth the investment. But hey, i have something to game on right now, and you don't.

Thing is most benchmarks that you see on youtube etc. differ from real life. In real life you can tweak the settings around from Ultra to the point where your eye can't tell the difference but the rig will output up to 20fps more. That is a huge difference and a lot of saved money.

@Fgroia i get what you're trying to do here. Clearly, when people consider gaming on a TV it's for fun, and casual gaming. Even if in some games you won't hold 60, you will never ever tell the difference in real life.
Ask yourself if you're gonna game on TV for more than 20 hours a week. You will find the 5700Xt to be an overkill. Save your money.

To be honest i play arround 20/30 hours per week, so i will be using it a lot, i'm trying to build a machine .to last two years minimum

What's the size of the tv, what's the distance from the tv at which you will be playing, and how's your vision?
Answers to those question can say a lot about whether you'll even see much of a difference in 4k.
That's important, because chasing 4K means at least several hundred $ more in hadware cost.

My tv its 55, 2/3 meters of distance, i know that 4k maximum quality takes more cost but has i said earlier if i can get 60 frames with good quality graphics i'm happy

You could always render at 1440p and scale it to 4K via the GPU with something like Radeon Image Sharpening on 5700XT. With 3 meters distance you probably wouldn't even notice the difference and you'd keep performance level from 1440p.

Sorry... what? Are you talking about upscaling to 4K from a 1080p (lower than 4k) source? Not a fan of running anything not at the native res...

That also isn't how DLSS works. Upscaling and DLSS are two different things, no? One is simple hardware upscaling while the other (DLSS) is based on AI...
Cant be more agreed to this...
Running the source resolution out of monitor's/TV's native res will blur the image so much... and there is no hardware or software existing to compensate that. Simply nothing can. Its just plain physical disagreement of pixels. Probably more than half pixels of that 8+million (4K) will blur between 2 or more colors trying to display whats what... no no!
I prefer going with 1080p eyes closed, than this mess.

This could be much better... but isnt the other way arround? render at high and downscale to lower? I mean the capability of AMD drivers...

There is though, some tvs have that option, and nvidia added integer scaling for Turing.
Also, I found this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/993090/Lossless_Scaling/
According to comments, it works.
If you can get it to work, both 1080p and 720p will translate nicely to 4k, 4 and 9 pixels per pixel respectively.

1. 3840 x 2160 resolution isn't quite ready for prime time for gaming. It's market share id < 2% and is shrinking. Oddly enough, the only resolution that is growing in market share is 1080p (+1.11% in last month)

. The best gaming experience available today and a large budget price is at 1440p on an AUOptronics 165 Hz IPS screen (Asus and Acer). The run about $600 in the US. I checked PCpartpicker tand they had no vendors listed in Portugal. At 4k, they are down from the $1999 price tag to $1300 - $1400. Thats's not due as much to proce drops over time as it is the lack of any MBR technology, So that's like 550 and 1200 Euro alone.

A decent 2080 Ti is still $1250 (1,140 Euro) ... and that's not enough VRAM nor processing power for the more demanding games @ 4k

2. A 5700 XT isn't a bad card for 1440p .... but it's outperformed by the old 2070 (not super) in TPUs 20+ game test suite when both cards are overclocked (+5%). Using compartable AIB cards from MSI .... the 5700 XT needs 280 watts for peak gaming, hits 71C and 32 dbA whereas the 2070 huts 233, 70C and 30 dbA. The 5500 XT doesn't have any MBR technology.

3. I have never seen a TV measure up to the picture and experience provided by a quality monitor. ... and the TV has no MBR technology, ... the TV can't display anything unless it's sent their by the GPU .. what the high school kid at the big box store is telling you or the stuff read off unqualified web sites can not be relied upon.

4. As to MoBos .... if you use the low class chipsets, toy will fiund that many of the subsystems crimp your style so to speak with substandard audio codecs, limited storage options etc .... For example B serieds MoBos often include ALC 887 ... the gaming standard is ALC 1220. Marrying that big screen to low budget speaker system and audio subsystem will diminish the experience.
