advice on cheap but good fans

need some 120mm fans. since my last tune up 2 fans have burnt out bearings. I used to use either yate loon high cfm's or scythe slipstream 110cfm's. I have a black ice extreme 2X120mm rad and I need fans in push and pull to get optimal cooling out of my setup. suggestions appreciated have been out of the pc world for about a year and just dont know if anything new has come to steak the price/performance of the slipstreams or yates

Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition ...

If you can find them in stock somewhere, these would suit your needs perfectly.

Low CFM compared to your old fans but much higher pressure... more along the lines of a classic 120x38mm fan.

I'd certainly buy more of them any way.

Corsair SP120, buy the ones that are high RPM and use the 7V adapter if u dont have a fan controller.

These fans can be bought in packs of two, and in that case they are not expensive while also being between the best.

Arctic F 12 PWM is a good fan (newegg link) use 24 of them in my pc, they go down to 400 rpm. also, you do not need splitters for them.

I think that staying with Slipstreams might be better, because those fans which are better tend to cost like 20 USD per piece (Servo Gentle Typhoon, Corsair SP120, Noctua SF-...)

Yate Loon fans are less than $4 each if you wanted something cheap, reliable, and proven. We've been using them since the dawn of consumer PC water cooling. These are what Nexus rebrand to Real Silent, but they come in higher speed variants too.

I got corsair sp's on my rad. They cool just as well as the yate loon highs at full speed I had before them at 7v. They are very quiet at 7v too. I bought two packs of two for $24.99 along with a newegg 20% off case fans coupon. I see that coupon come up every month or so.

Cougars are nice fans but just don't push much air in my opinion. Nice quiet case fans.

Yates make great cheap fans that move a lot of air. Reliable and proven.

in the past I have been a YATE loon and scythe man, but my last purches ~10 fans 5 scythe 5 yates, only one is still moving, the rest seized up. so i wont get scythes or yates again, hell I'm using fans that came with my case 6 yrs ago. but I did see these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0039825LM/?tag=tec06d-20
seems good and not super loud but still push almost 50cfm. im using push/pul so cfm really isnt a huge factor

No way that a 1300rpm fan pushes almost 50 CFM, those reviewed as being 40+ CFM fans are usually spinning quite a bit faster.
Oh, and don't forget that you should not use fans with sleeve bearings in a horizontal position and expect them to last long.

Yes, they're great fans, if you like rattling, noisy, weak, ineffective fans that will cause your CPU to overheat when they die. Just kidding! I'm sure they're not that bad, but my experience with $5 and $10 fans has not been good. The Corsair Airflow SP120 Performance Series mentioned by many others is the way to go - in 2-packs for $30 - you won't find any other fans of this quality for less than $25 EACH (I have 2 x SP120 Perf. and 2 x AF140 Quiet). However, for casual builds, the fans you mentioned are adequate, and keep the final price down.

Cougar fans are good as well. They don't have the highest static pressure or cfms of the corsair 120s but move more air relative to sound than most any other fan in the price range.

I have 4 Cougar's they move lots of air, but once you put it on a CPU HS they do slow up. The sound is very quiet though. I keep mine at 60% Case temp 30c, CPU 35C and GPU 1-2 44c
